My DH and I are thinking about DL in March. We haven't either one been in probably 10 years. We are thinking that instead of spending so much money at one of the Disney Hotels that we will just stay offsite. I've read that many people love HOJO's. Keeping these few factors in mind would you please give me your opinions??

Closest proximity to the main gate since we will be walking

Must be a really nice/clean hotel

Hopefully free parking

Thank you for your help

Last time we went we stayed at The Anaheim Fairfield. I was plesantly surprised. The room was very clean and nicer than I expected. It is pretty close the Ho Jo's, but a little bit closer to the gates at DL, so definitely within walking distance.

My only complaints were that our room was too far from the elevator and that it was a little loud because our room was right above the pool. Those issues can easily be resolved by choosing a room in a different location. We didn't pay for parking at the time (2/08), but if I remember correctly they are charging now.

The only reason I didn't book there again is because we had another baby and with 3 kids I'd like to have a suite so we can spread out a bit more. Good luck! :goodvibes

We are saving about $100 per day by staying right across the street at The Carousel Inn. That's a pretty good savings and trumps staying at a Disney property.

We have stayed at HoJo and it was very nice.

Right across from the entrance is the Park Vue In, just paid $930 for 8 days

I like the Candy Cane Inn.

It's walking distance, nice rooms, free GOOD breakfast, free parking, pretty landscaping, and they also have a free shuttle JUST FOR THE HOTEL for when you're too tired to hoof it.

Prices are reasonable, and for two of you, you could just get a basic room and be just fine.

Another vote for Fairfield Inn. We stayed there in June last year and had a great stay. There are links to my room photos in my signature below for Fairfield and Hojos. Hojos has been fine for us all these years as well. Fairfield Inn now charges $4 a day fo parking. They have great amenities compared to a lot of the motels across the street on Harbor. Good luck with your decision.
