we are planning a trip for my daughters spring break and i am wondering wich good neighbor hotel offers the best value for the money? we do not need parking or internet.... we want clean safe max 2 block walk to main enterance of disneyland and free continental breakfast.

I just booked at Tropicana. It is right across the street from Disneyland (shorter walk then if staying at DLH or PP)... and it was only $105 total including tax.

We stayed at the Candy Cane Inn last January... rooms were very clean, breakfast was plentiful, bathrooms full of hot water.. and! right next to the parks. read the tripadvisor reviews to get the best feel for the different properties you are looking at. you can also use maps.google.com to search for "motels" near disneyland and get an overhead view of the different properties. Good luck!

2 blocks is maybe not a great way to measure it. There aren't proper blocks, just a row of hotels with driveways every so often. So that's a hard one.

And the bulk of the walking when leaving the park is just getting from wherever you are, out to Harbor (the Harbor hotels are closest). From Harbor it's about 5 minutes up to HoJo's parking lot, which is about as far away as most walkers choose to stay.

I stayed at Carousel once and while it was closer (by a few minutes) than HoJo I won't stay there again. Did not enjoy it!

Many people like Tropicana. Heck, there are fans of any of the hotels on Harbor in walking distance. :)

Last time we stayed at the Tropicana and I liked it because it was so close to the parks.

Well I was going to say HoJo (of course) but you said you want a continental breakfast so then my choices change to the Tropicana and the CCI. The Tropicana is right across the street. The CCI is about a 7-13 min. walk for us.
They both have breakfast but the CCI's is better, and they have a FREE shuttle, that's the best part when your feet are dead. LOL BWPPI also has a breakfast and is right across the street from the parks. They would be another good choice for a good place to stay.

If we weren't now a DH family, we would most definitely stay at the Candy Cane Inn. We stayed there three times before we "converted" to DH.
