Which good neighbor hotels are the closet to Disneyland, We are going in October and won't have a car and really don't want to do alot of walking

Here's another link: :goodvibes

As a point of reference:

Howard Johnson (HoJo): 10 minute walk (or slightly less)
(I also recommend the Entertainment Rate :cheer2: , if it's available )

Best Western Park Place Inn: 5 minute walk (the closest off-site hotel)
(BWPPI is located at 1544 S. Harbor Blvd.)

Candy Cane Inn: 10 minute walk (they also have a free direct shuttle)

HTH :earsboy:

i think the tropicana is 2nd closest...about a 6 min walk. they have breakfast refreshements and i've heard good stuff about the hotel. also, i heard that the camelot, a couple hotels past the tropicana, has great rooms with views of the fireworks. they also have free continental breakfast.

I have been to HoJos Carousel and Dessert Inn and suites. I think the Carousel is the nicest. Very clean and nice beds. Close to the crosswalk.
HoJos is very nice too. A bit of a walk with small kids if you go back and forth during the day. The rooms at HoJos are very large and clean. They have a small store a nice pool (and a new water park for kids). I would not stay at Dessert Inn and Suites again. I had lot of probelms there. Our room was very dirty and outdated.

hojos (number one)
camolot (number 2) (room 404 sees fireworks)
desert inn (number 3) Havent been yet but was going to this year but have hojos instead

Check out Howard Johnsons and see if you can get the entertainment book rate for your stay: http://www.hojoanaheim.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=14 Standard room $59, deluxe room with Disney view $74.

Others that are well liked on these boards include Best Western Park Place Inn, Desert Inn, Tropicana, Park Vue, Camelot or Candy Cane.

I think HoJo is the nicest for the best rate if you can get the Ent rate.

I wished I knew of these links before I stayed at the Budget Inn (we were on a budget.. hence the name :lmao: ) in June. I know HoJo has the Ent rate & cheap.. but we decided not to stay there in September because it is a bit far. We're giving the Best Western Park Place a try  .. because I want internet in the room

Thank you for posting avalon451 & HydroGuy!

The motel 6 Anaheim is the best deal at the Disneyland resort... The rates are very cheap and the hotel is very well maintained. They also offer a shuttle to Disneyland and parking for a nominal fee. Rates tend to run about 75 dollars for rooms at the Motel 6. The Motel 6 is the former Red Roof Inn Anaheim Maingate hotel. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!

The Fairfield Inn is about a block from the entrance. We love it there!:thumbsup2

Oops, I forgot to mention my recommendation. I recommend the Desert Inn! I'm pretty sure wazowskiLOVER (mycousin) & TheAXIOM (mybrother) would both agree on my recommendation. It is has a very short walking distance to the entrance of Disneyland! We all had a GREAT experience with this hotel :thumbsup2

My favorites are the Hojo and Tropicana. I do notice that you have a 3 and 4year olds. I highly recommend, espeically if you go with the Hojo, that you bring your own stroller. That walk, even the walk to the Tropicana can be long for kids that age, who are a bit heavy to be carrying after a long day in the parks! The Hojo has a new pirate themed splash area that your kids would love. And very large rooms. I love the Tropicana and it is very close but its pool is basic and it doesn't have the pretty grounds the Hojo does. But again, we love that one too, it just doens't have quite as much personality as the Hojo does. Just some thoughts. Have a great trip to Disneyland!!

#1 I think the Best Western Park Place Inn and Suites is the closest. Straight across the street is the walking path to the main gate. Rooms are not bad and they offer a really nice continental breakfast each morning. We stayed there last June and wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

Here is another link with a map and links to all of the hotels around DL.

Next trip we are staying at Anaheim Marriott Suites, which is 5 or so blocks south of DL, but it is right on the ART system that makes it very easy to get to DL. www.rideart.org

I like the Candy Cane Inn.... It's in a good location and a very short walk.. Plus the shuttle is always there if you don't want to walk. We just stayed there for the 3rd time and were very pleased.

OP here. Sorry it took me so long to get back to this thread

Thanks everyone for the very helpful info:worship: :worship: :worship:

We like the Park Vue - it's right at the crosswalk. You can't stay any closer to the front gates! They have really good fireworks viewing, free parking, free continental breakfast (if nothing else, you can get yogurts, fruit and oatmeal, toast, milk, juice, cereal) and decent rates. Although I have heard that their rates have been climbing since we last booked....I guess they have to pay for that refurb to their lobby and the addition of Cold Stone, hunh? I don't know if I'll be able to stay there again....a Cold Stone right under my nose would SO NOT be good for my what is left of my waistline!:goodvibes
