Good Neighbor Hotel Recommendations

My daughter (17) and I are planning to visit next summer and are looking for recommendations on good neighbor hotels. Ideally we'd like to be within walking distance of DL.

Aim to be across from the parks on Harbor, all of those places are in easy walking range.

I'd suggest.
Park Vue Inn.
BW Park Place Inn
Candy Cane Inn.

It would depend on your price range and if you want inside or outside doors.If I was going with small kids, I'd probably spend a little more and stay at the Best Western Park Place Inn since it's right at the crosswalk but with my daughter and I, we'd probably go for cheap and stay down a short block at the Anaheim Plaza which is dirctly across the TOT.

We've just booked a second stay at the Carousel. We were quite happy there for a week in May and the amazing fireworks view was very handy when we were too pooped to fight crowds.

Tropicana and Anaheim Fairfield Inn

Fairfield has often had the 4th noc free so it is quite inexpensive.

We've stayed at CCI for our last 4 visits - love it!

Nice, clean rooms with 2 queen beds
Free continental breakfast
Nice pool and hot tub
Motel style - but nicely landscaped and rooms are set back from parking area slightly
AAA rates (we've usually paid around $120 per night)
5-7 minute walk to DLR
Free shuttle runs every 30 minutes

I always look at other options on Harbor - but, always end up at CCI because its never let us down!

I really liked Embassy Suites Anaheim South. They offer a free all you can eat breakfast buffet and free shuttle to DL.

Red Lion all the way. Very affordable through various online sites (around 70-75/night often with breakfast which is delicious) and updated/modern as well as nicely maintained. I did a full review somewhere around here. The walk isn't far at all, just past candy cane inn, and we felt it was very much worth it!

Candy Cane has a shuttle that runs to the park. (The walk is .5 miles but we usually use their shuttle.) It is my first choice. Then Carousel (its about a 8 min walk. It is .3 miles from the turnstiles.) I also like Hojo's (also .5 miles) and Fairfield. We didn't care for the new Red Lion (used to be Radisson.) It is .8 miles from the turnstiles. If you are looking for a cheap place to just sleep, and want clean, Anaheim Plaza is good. It is outdated, and not the most comfortable beds, but it is clean. Best beds vote goes to the Carousel.

We usually stay at the Residence Inn on Clementine. We like the 800 sf rooms!

If you click on the links in my sig you can see my picture review of Candy Cane Inn and Embassy South. We liked both, but we've gone back to CCI twice more after that review. Love the easy walk.

We just returned from a great stay at the Ramada Maingate. Very easy walk, even with two kids. I wouldn't pay rack rate to stay there, but we got a great deal and an awesome room. (search for my review)

Normally we stay at Tropicana. It was so nice to cross the street and be at our rooms almost immediately.
This time we decided to branch out and are staying at Carousel. We have never stayed there, so this will be a test. The comfy beds were a selling point, and I got a night free (which means we just stayed an extra night).

We stayed at one of the Best Western's once. Not sure which one it is, but it was okay, a little noisy.

I have stayed at the Menage (years ago, before it was called this), HoJos, Fairfield, and Castle Inn. My favorite was HoJos in the summer with little kids and Fairfield for the great deal I got. Next month we are making a quick trip to the Ramada Maingate... I picked it because of the proximity to the entrance and the amenities/price.
