Good Neighbor Hotel Package booked through Disney????

I am a DL newbie. Does anyone know if I book a Disneyland GNH package through Disney, can I pay off the package balance with Disney Gift Cards? I have done this at WDW many times but those reservations were for hotels on Disney property. I'm not sure if GNHs can be handled the same way. Thank you.

Good Neighbor Hotels are not Disney Resort hotels. They have a partnership with Disneyland Resort and offer family-friendly amenities, tickets, shuttles, and sometimes honor annual pass holder discounts. However, Disney Gift cards won't work with them.. You might as well use your gift cards for other things at DLR.

You are paying premium price by booking through Disney, but the GNHs are all solid and you get peace of mind. For a first timer, it's a reasonable choice.

That's not true for the situation OP is asking about. A Good Neighbor Hotel booked through Disney as a package can be paid for using Gift Cards or through your Disney Vacation Account since you are paying Disney and not the hotel directly. In my research, I saved more money paying with discounted gift cards through Disney than I would have if I had booked directly with the hotel, so I went that route.

The same is true for flights and tickets. If you book those directly through Disney as part of a package, you can pay with a gift card or DVA, and in essence save a good amount on those as well.

Some of the best local hotels are not "good neighbor" rated and can be had for better pricing than booking GN properties through Disney.

The owner of these boards also is partners in this travel agency, and they book through Walt Disney Travel. It doesn't cost you more, you get help planning your trip, and you can use Disney gift cards to pay for your package or hotel stay.

If you book through Disney, yes, you can pay for your entire package using giftcards regardless of whether it's a Disney hotel or a Good Neighbor. We're doing that right now for a trip in November (also using our Disney Visa points). It's one of the perks of booking through Disney instead of doing it all separately.

I do know you can book a Disneyland GNH package through Costco and after the $200 deposit, you can pay the remainder with Disney Gift Cards. I don't know if you can pay for the deposit with a gift card. The price for the package is the same through the Disney site and Costco, but with Costco you get a few extras that are nice. One thing though, not all good neighbor hotels are offered at Costco.

Also you might try pricing everything separately, and see if you come out ahead. We save quite a bit by booking hotel, airfare, and DLR tickets separately. Especially by staying at one of the close hotels.

Absolutely you can pay a GNH package booked through Disney Travel Co. with Disney gift cards! I booked a GNH package through Costco and am paying it off with my discounted gift cards. I looked at this trip from every possible angle and this was the cheapest way to do it, given the additional Costco perk of character meal vouchers (which do not have to be used on character meals!) I have called in twice now to apply gift card credit; works just fine! Have fun planning your trip!

If you choose not to do a character meal does the cost of the Character Meal apply to any other food purchases, or does it all have to be used at once?

You will get no change back, so the voucher must be used all at once. We are 4 Disney adults and will be getting a $47 meal voucher per person. Thank you Costco for our free dinner at Blue Bayou!
