Sherry, you're right--it never hurts to ask! When we originally got the offer in Nov. from DLH, it was slipped under our door with a rate of $129 for an extension. We were paying $169, so it was a really good deal, especially since they'd already moved us from a standard room to a DTD-view king suite! What was kind of odd to me was that it was Thanksgiving week, just a couple of days before Thanksgiving and I thought they'd be pretty busy. It almost killed me to turn it down but I had to fly home.
HydroGuy, I can see why you would opt out of a $700 suite!! I would certainly look at other options, too. And it would definitely take some of the Disney magic away if you were all crammed into a small hotel room, I imagine. I might get 2 connecting rooms if they were in the $160 range, but I could never pay $700/night.
