Rae Jean, yep, that's where I was all last week. I was having computer problems and couldn't get online to say good bye, but left on tuesday. I got to see her on family day thursday and see her graduate on friday. A few of us were able to see them off at the airport on saturday so I stayed an extra day.

On the long way home my youngest wanted to go and see Lookout Mountain so we made the trip even longer by visiting there. She loved it.

It was a bittersweet trip. My daughter wouldn't let go of me. I had to push her onto the plane to leave.
I told her she's been through the worst of it she didn't want to get into trouble. At that point, she would have gladly gotten kicked out. I think she'll be ok now though. She's callled me every day, more than once. She is so homesick it hurts. But she will be ok.

Hi Kelly! She's doing good. My mind is in a fog today but weren't you one of them that sent her a card or letter?
SHe told me that they really helped her get through some days. It was wonderful getting the mail. And made everyone curious. Her too since she never knew who was sending her something.. Mail was horrible there. I sent her an overnight letter to tell her I was coming. She didn't get it until after I arrived.


She thought she wasn't going to be able to graduate. She had a torn ligiment in her back and almost didn't make the pt test. She finally passed it the same day I left.
I didn't know if she'd be able to see me or not since she hadn't passed it, but I went anyway. She told me later that she would have been able to see me one day at least.
The second day she was able to leave base and she came back to my hotel with me. She spent the day swimming and laying in the jacuzzi. lol

Its really soooo hard to see them all grown-up in their uniforms. I cried the whole time through graduation!! I just kept wondering where my baby went!! PM me her new address and I will send her another card! You can never get enough mail when you are far away from home!

Nice to see you, Laurie. A few more weeks till the Indy meet.

And good to hear Bri graduated and all, always tough going through that basic, for the kids, and the parents. And yes, as RJ, send me her new address, I too would love to send her another, they help.

Ahh, thanks RJ. I know she was almost in tears with emotion telling me about the cards and letters she received. thank you, and to everyone else that sent something, even if it was just good wishes.

I'll let you know her new address as soon as I get it.

I dealt with graduation because it just didn't seem real.

That first day I was ticked. The had us gather in an auditoriam to listen to speaches and a video of soldiers and all I wanted to do is go outside where my kid was. They spent almost an hour stalling us and I got madder every minute. I wanted my kid.
We were finally let loose and couldn't find her at all. Kelsea ended up yelling for her and she found us. She held on I didn't think she'd ever let go.

We went through a lot of tissues.
