It is not a secret among those who know me that I am not an early morning person, I'm not even a late morning person..... in fact, I think the word "morning" was meant to be on the censored list..... an oversight I'm sure!

So, it was no small miracle this morning that I actually woke up in time, even bigger that I exited my bed and moved forward towards anything that even remotely resembled starting my day, and something to be celebrated that I, Fishbone†, was indeed going to make it to work on time today. I was so excited when I checked the clock and realized my good fortune, that I think there was just a hint of "skip" in my step as walked to my car. Hey wait! Something doesn't seem quite right.

Oh my goodness, I have a flat tire!!! And it's been slashed!!!! Double.....

I feel so.......... targeted....... so unsafe........ so mad..... and yet so very glad it was only a tire and not my paint job. In the light of my bad week, I handled this well........ for approximately 5 seconds. I'm highly disappointed..... my tire is flat, my car has victimized, and I'm going to be late for work in spite of my previous time management skills. It will be a couple of hours before I find out that I am only one of six who woke up to the same welcome. My parents offer me the use of one of their cars. I do what any intelligent human being would do, and choose the Chevy. ;) I am late for work, but feel fortunate that the damage is repairable ($250), I have access to transportation, and my dad is going to spend his morning getting me a new tire.

I am however very frustrated with the attitude of our kids these days (as I am assuming that is my suspect). What possesses someone to think that the damage of property is a cool activity. Why is there no sense of respect?? Do they realize the intense cost and hardship they cause others when they enjoy a fleeting moment of entertainment?? What took them literally seconds to accomplish (thus literally seconds of "pleasure") cost me frustration, inconvenience and $250 that I could have spent on sooooo many other things!!! Fortunately for me, my expenses are relatively low so I have the money on hand.... what of others who live paycheck to paycheck??? People who have children to feed and a mortgage and bills to pay??? Can you imagine the bind they would be in??

SELFISH, SELFISH PEOPLE..... I have no tolerance for them!!!

Sorry to hear of your troubles, Fishbone...

I have often wondered the exact same thing.. Slashing tires; smashing windsheilds; trashing mail boxes; and worst of all, vandalizing cemeteries!!

Selfish - irresponsible - disrespectful - take your pick.. Makes me SO angry.. Whoever the culprits are though they'll never "get it" until the same dastardly deed is done to THEM and then they'll be screaming their heads off about how "unfair" it is..

I'll never understand the concept of deriving pleasure from someone elses pain and suffering.. :(
