I just told my middle school aged daughter she could have a sleepover with 6 friends. And they could all go to a salon for nails/makeup and whatever else you do at a salon when you're 12 years old. And that we'd take them out for a fun dinner.

I wonder if my wife can just go and I'll take my boys out go cart racing?!

I did the same thing. I usually let my dd-12 have someone sleep over but she asked if she can go over her friends house on Halloween to go Trick or Treating and I said why don't you have them come over and she can sleep over. Well, one turned into 4 and then I felt bad for my ds who is 8 since he has wanted a friend to sleep over so I told him he can have ONE of his friends sleep over on Halloween also. My kids (and their friends) always have off the day after Halloween since it is All Saints Day and they go to Catholic School.
They usually go trick or treating until dark and then I figured I will order pizza and maybe a scary movie will be on for the girls.
The boys will do video games or something else. I don't have work the next day but my husband does and I hope he gets at least an hour or two rest

Nah. Just kiddin'. You're a great dad. But Holy Moly, six girls? And to a salon? My DD11 would be so jealous. Really you dad's are great though.

My DD just talked my dh into letting her have 4 friends sleep over next Friday night after Trunk or Treat. Usually this would be no big deal but here's the the kicker.. I'm going to be in Florida with my girlfriends. Woohoo! I think he's feeling guilty for all of those golf trips . Anyway, he's a brave soul I tell ya. Honestly, I don't know if he knows what he's up for. Usually I'm here to make sure all is going smooth. You know pre-teen girls *sigh*.

I can just picture my hubby coming up with an idea like that and then expecting me to be the one to take 7 girls out for the evening! I'l tell you the same thing I'd tell him - NO WAY, JOSE!!!

I would go for the nails, makeup, & dinner part, but I HATE the sleep overs. I usually do a limit of 3 kids for hte sleep over part.

A man who actually wants preteen girls in his house...gosh isn't there something weird and creepy about a male wanting to be around children?
