I know there have been countless threads with horror stories of being seated near little hellions. Today I experienced the exact opposite, so I thought I'd share something from a positive perspective.
We flew SW from MCO to MDW this morning. I sat in the window seat of the exit row and didn't pay attention to who was behind me. Other than some normal conversational sounds, I didn't notice much noise back there (of course, I had my headphones on). I felt a couple of bumps/jolts on my seat, but nothing more than what you might feel when a person puts the tray table up or down. Other than that, totally peaceful. I was especially grateful because there was a kid a few rows up shrieking at the eardrum shattering pitch...thankfully, he was far enough from us.
On descent, I hear some whimpering and crying behind me...not much, just some that you might expect of a kid whose ears were bugging them as we were landing, and it stopped pretty quickly. I glanced back, and there was a toddler strapped in a carseat behind me. I would never have guessed it! That kid had been a total angel. I made it a point to tell the parents, "You have got one of the cutest and most well behaved kids I've had the pleasure of sitting in front of."
The horror stories always seem to be the ones that get shared, but it's so nice to see that there are parents who know how to keep their little one amused and mannerly.
