Ladies, it seems like we are always interested in a great walking shoe for disney. This article caught my eye.

This is the link but I'll cut & paste the #1 tested.

Easy Spirit Reinvent Walking Sneakers

GHRI Rating: A

Pros:
. Consumer testers found this sneaker comfortable and fairly supportive
Most consumer testers liked the fit of the sneaker
Consumer testers thought these sneakers cushioned their feet well

Cons:
.A few consumer testers thought this sneaker ran a half size big

Easy Spirit's Reinvent walking shoes earned rave reviews from our consumer testers. These affordable sneakers "feel like slippers," said one enthusiastic reviewer, while another praised that they "fit well and felt like I had nothing on my feet." That's likely due to the shoe's minimal design; its mesh upper and stretch lining allows the shoe to "hug or conform to the foot," says Karen Langone, D.P.M., a specialist in sports and fitness medicine in Southampton, N.Y., who evaluated the sneakers.

Though it looks similar to a regular running shoe, the Reinvent is lightened by the omission of a rubber outsole. The flexibility of the shoe can help strengthen the muscles of the foot, says Paul Langer, D.P.M., of Twin Cities Orthopedics. He cautions though that, for some, it "can also increase strain." If you love the shoes but are worried, ease yourself into the pair by increasing your mileage gradually. And be cautious wearing this pair out in the rain — Langer says the lack of an outsole might mean reduced traction on wet surfaces.

Bottom line: While some testers complained that they don't offer a ton of arch support, this pair is plenty comfortable and testers liked the amount of cushioning. High marks in nearly every category from consumer testers made the Reinvent an easy pick for the best tested lightweight walking sneakers.

I'm a man. What am I supposed to do?

hey- as long as your feet are small enough to fit a size 11, you're still good to go.:rotfl:

OP Thanks for that link. It's a good looking walking shoe, and I was getting ready to go shopping for a new pair. Will definitely be on the lookout for these.

Speaking as a ladyperson with size 11 feet, I often buy men's sneakers in an 8.5.

I have tried these shoes and there ARE comfortable, but they are not highly durable for someone who is on their feet alot, especially on hard surfaces. The support system, etc. was declining at 4 months and shot at 6. And yes, I do have more than 1 pair of shoes! LOL!
I like Rockports a great deal, partially due to the strong shank within the shoes. But I have to say that I have shelved my Rockports in Favor of Brooks brand shoes. YMMV.

I'm not really a sneaker girl, although I generally wear them to WDW for comfort. I just discovered the Bernie Mev Comfi walking shoe this summer. They are the most comfortable shoes I have ever put on to walk in for any length of time. I got them in a little store in CA, and the lady told me that people buy them for DL all the time. She said they are also really popular for people planning on touring Europe and doing a ton of walking. I love that they aren't sneakers and are cute. Mine are silver, but they come in almost every color you could want. I haven't tried them out at WDW yet, and we had just left DL when I bought them so I got them a little too late. They have been great for everywhere else that involves a lot of walking though!

Good housekeeping reviewing shoes is like car and driver reviewing spinal surgeons. Those sneakers are terrible. Read websites like runners world for advice on shoes. Besides, you should be using minimalist shoes. God did not intend for us to be walking in heavily cushioned shoes. You should be using something to simulate walking barefoot.

I'm pretty sure that we have not evolved to be able to walk eight miles a day for several days in a row on concrete and asphalt with minimalist footwear. I know it can be done; the Country Music Marathon would run past our house every year, and we would get up early to cheer the barefoot Kenyan runners as they streaked by (Usually while eating pancakes and sausages. Watching athletic endeavors make me hungry. I just cleaned up a plateful of hamburgers and fries just now watching women's gymnastics and men's swimming in the Olympics). You couldn't get me to run or walk around my neighborhood block or WDW barefoot or nearly so on a bet. Too many hazards.

If your minimalist shoes work for you at WDW, great. Other people prefer more comfort. For most posters, WDW is downtime, and downtime should be comfortable, or what's the point?

I wear "minimalist" Croc sandals that are five years old. I hate hot feet, and love to leave them on the floor and go "Soarin" barefoot.

New Balance is usually highly recommended by physicians beacuse of the arch support. I've always been happy with their shoes and have worn them many times to WDW.

Because of this thread, I went and tried on the Easy Spirit Reinvent. The shoes are extremely lightweight and soft. The foot bed is cushy, but not supportive. The majority of the shoe is a stretchy mesh fabric. However, for me, they were too flimsy for walking WDW. For anyone with a back or knee issue, I think you would want a shoe that absorbs shock better than these shoes do. I didn't buy them.
