We have now been back 2 days from our first Disney trip and we loved it so here we are planning next years! We are hoping to go again in July 2006. This year we stayed in a villa but were thinking of staying in a hotel next year. Can anyone reccomend any? Or tell me any to avoid! Also any tips on the weather at this time of year as Easter was beautiful. Thanks :wave2:

Hi Caly,

Are you looking to stay onsite at WDW or Universal? If not, do you have any strong views about which areas you would like / would not like?

And can you give us a clue about your budget and number of stars you would look for?

Just helps give you some ideas that will work for you :)

Cheers

Karen

Sorry, we were not thinking of staying onsite but perhaps in the Kissimmee area. The travel agent reccommended La Quinta Lakeside, Ramada Resort or Liki Tiki resort. I am not sure about International Drive as friends of ours stayed at the Howard Johnson and didnt like it they had problems with security and said it was very noisy. We are looking for a 3* as we probably wont be spending a lot of time there.

why not try a value at disney price about £56 per room per night ok for head down and its on site compairs weel to of site and with all the fun of disney magic

Heard some not so good things about the La Quinta Lakeside, but its hard to find a hotel that DOESNT have some bad things said against it.

One of our favourite areas to stay is Lake Buena Vista. There is the Sheraton Safari which is a nice hotel, very close to the attractions. The Comfort Inn & Suites offers good value in a great spot.

Places I would avoid, would be any hotels that are too far east of the I-4 on the 192. This is a very crumby area and I wouldnt want to stay here. We also dont like the "Maingate" area, as the hotels here look very sub standard.

There is a split opinion about I-Drive - some find it noisy and tacky whilst others find it a brilliant central spot to stay. Personally, I love the Plaza end, which is greener, quieter and nicer than the more noisy northern end.

Maybe do a bit of research, pick say 4 hotels you like the sound of and then make another post.

Have fun planning!

Hya.

We spent the 1st night of our recent trip at Courtyard By Marriott at the Marriott Village (Lake Buena Vista Crossroads). There's 3 hotels there for different budgets and all looked smart. Being close to the Crossroads for restaurants is also pretty handy - all walking distance.

I have heard the same about these three hotels - great location for Disney too- good luck and have a great trip! :earsgirl:

I would stay in Lake Buena Vista, very close to attractions. We are going to the Rosen Centre (South end of I Drive) which I am hoping will be lovely.

I would not recommend staying in the Comfort Inn at LBV. We had a room facing out on to the I4 and is was so noisy; had trouble sleeping which is the last thing you want.

Trip Advisor has all the hotels listed with reviews from people who have stayed there.

i am staying at la quinta inn lakeside this year.i reads the reviews on trip advisor, but i think you will find that people only feel the need to comment when they want to complain!!! 192 maingate is a great spot for getting to disney, but without paying a fortune for a room.At the end of the day,if you are only going to sleep there (not bother about onsite facilities),then why not go for cheaper room and have more spending money?
