I am struggling with grocery coupons. Every weekend I dutifully go through the Sunday paper and pull out the coupons for products I regularly buy. That's where my "system" breaks down. The coupons tend to remain on the counter until they are expired. :sad2:

Does anyone have a good system for organizing their coupons and ensuring you have them with you when you shop? :confused3

I use a coupon organizer at home for my coupons and do the same thing as you each week~~study each store circular and make a list of what I want to buy and match up the coupons I have for those items. Well....I'm hopeless at shopping w/o that list so I ALWAYS prepare a list for each store no matter whether it's a lot of items or just a couple. Then I put the coupons inside the folded list, put it in my purse, and voila~~ they're with me at the store along with the list of what to buy. :thumbsup2 The only time it breaks down is when I spot something at the store that I didn't know would be on sale/clearance and my other coupons are in their organizer back at home. I suppose I could throw the organizer in the car for times like that and head back into the store for a second purchase. HTH?

I keep them all in an envelope in my purse.

I've caught myself stopping to grab something a million times and wishing I had them... so now I just take them with me.

Everything else is in my purse, why not my coupons? lol.

Organization is CRUCIAL to making it work. I write lists for each store I want to hit and then fold the lists in half and insert the coupons for that store in the fold. I then place the lists and coupons in the front of my coupon organizer. I will also admit that I love using coupons. I liken it too a gambler's high at a casino. I love to watch the register total go down down down as the checker swipes my coupons. I generally get $15-$25 a week off in coupons.

My coupon organizer goes with me EVERYWHERE. I never leave home wthout it!

Can you all fill me in where you find all your coupons? I know the sunday papers where else?

All You magazine has a lot of good coupons in it. You can get it at Walmart or subscribe through Amazon. Our stores have good tear pads and occasionally blinkies. You can print coupons on sites like coupons.com.

A friend of mine taught me how to maximize coupons. Here's what he taught me:

1. Pull the coupons from the Sunday paper and keep them in the booklets. Write the date on the top page. (This makes it sooooo easy to find the coupons!)

2. Go to couponmom.com and choose your store. (I only use Publix and Kroger, because they double coupons to .50. Occasionally, I will use Target, but only if they have a really good deal.) Couponmom.com is a free site.

3. Click on the items you want to purchase and print your list.

4. Clip the chosen coupons from the coupon books and head to the store.

Here are some examples of my savings:

Publix - Paid $13.33 and Saved $19.46
Publix - Paid $2.24 and Saved $9.76
Kroger - Paid $46.24 and Saved $48.64
Publix - Paid $64.93 and Saved $49.46
Kroger - Paid $7.62 and Saved $16.12
Publix - Paid $10.79 and Saved $8.33

I love how much money we're saving, but I really love that our pantry is full and we're eating wonderful meals!

Thanks for all the suggestions! :goodvibes Does anyone recommend any particular type of coupon organizer?

Where do you keep them? I buy those crappy organizers from the Dollar Store and they only last a few weeks. I can't seem to find any nice, durable holders!
