Good grief it's hot.

We're heating up, too. Swelter is the perfect word. :sunny: The weatherman was warning people on the news tonight to be careful over the next few days because we're not used to the heat/humidity yet.

It's 43.8 C (111 F) at my house today, so I hear ya. There's a reason why in my neck of the woods they refer to air conditioning as "refrigeration." LOL.

If you're able to, get a fan for whatever room you're in. Air movement makes a huge difference.

My city is under an extreme heat warning tomorrow. But we're heading Northwest. Our first stop will be 105 degrees. But our destination will have highs in the 60s and 70s (stormy though...bummer.)

I live in the south in the US. I will not be poking fun, because I hate when Northerners poke fun in winter. You used to the weather in your region.
Hydrate hydrate hydrate. Cooling towels are wonderful. Breathable clothes.

We're in an extreme heat warning here in my part of NJ as well. Our central air conditioning doesn't reach the second floor where my room and computer are located. I have a window unit, but only use it at bedtime. I spent most of today downstairs because it just got too hot up here. This is the kind of weather where people die, especially elderly people-take care, everyone who's experiencing this!

111 F outside, that is. not inside the house. :-)

The 111 high temp is why I went to the grocery store at 6:45 am today.

We’re 3 weeks into monsoon season here in AZ and so far nothing. A few clouds early in the month and a drizzle or two, barely…. But nothing substantial. For the last week we’ve had “excessive heat warnings” every day. Today was :scared:109°F !!! Tomorrow will mellow a bit— only 104° :faint:

At least monsoon storms drop the temp when they roll in. Although, the next day starts off hot again, unfortunately. We were told that this should be an active monsoon season… lots of moisture. Hallelujah!

Ok— so where is it? i planted stuff because it was supposed to be wet. So far, my garden is just… sad. 😔

Also Arizona.....but hotter.We hit 113 yesterday.......excessive heat today expecting 111.
Then it is supposed to drop out of the that zone (which is 110 and over) and go down to 106 tomorrow.

You’re lucky, we don’t have central, one wall unit of the first floor, window units in the second floor, wall and window in the attic bedrooms. Planning on cleaning bathrooms today, no a/c at all, same with the kitchen. NJ is heating up after a cold spring. Beautiful today, looks like a one and done.

We haven't put the window AC units in yet, but we'll have to this weekend. My weather app is saying 99 Monday and 101 Tuesday. The dogs were panting like crazy last night even with my bedroom in the mid-high 70s and the ceiling fan on high.

This is without the extreme humidity we usually have here too. It has been an unusually dry few months here this year so the humidity is relatively low (67%) today. Usually about now it would be low 90F with at least 75 - 80% humidity levels.

the rest of this summer is going to be BRUTAL!!

I never believed in the dry heat vs humidity argument until I was in Vegas when it was 110F.

Was it hot? Oh yeah. But it isn't AS draining as 100F with 90% humidity. No. When you have the insane humidity, there is no getting away from it. And it will still be hot at 10PM as the moisture retains the heat.

That dry heat does make breathing difficult though for those of us from the swamp!!

So true, the humidity is worse

I started my run today at 198 pounds. I finished at 192.

That means I sweated out a full gallon of sweat.

It was hot for my run today.
