Good Grief-flag upside down.

As I was driving through town yesterday in my bus, I drove by a school with the flag upside down. Do people not pay attention? I called it in. Geesh! I can not STAND it when the flag is displayed incorrectly!

The guy at the post office had the flag upside down the other day. He wasn't in distress. I'm sure it was a complete accident. He is one of those really smart spacy people. Kinda creepy though. He has had many conversations with my chest. I'm glad he is only there 2 days a week.

OMG what is it with people!? DH and I were passing our local school last week and noticed their USA flag upside down too!!! DH called the Brd of Ed. Sorry, there is no excuse if not in distress.

My first thought was oops, the kids put it on upside down. Although you would have thought they would have noticed when they were raising it.

At our grade school 5th graders put up & take down the flag.

I didn't know an upside down flag was a distress signal though. I know other rules about the flag but didn't know that one.

Incorrectly displaying the flag in Mississippi results in a substantial fine: $1. No kidding. I spotted an upside down flag at the post office once.

It must be harder than we realize to hoist a flag. Maybe there's some kind of reverse trick like trying to get a letter to print right side up on the front of letterhead, rather than upside down on the back of letterhead.

I remember *way* back in the day at Girl Scout camp we had to raise and lower the flag each day. It never failed that, at least a couple times, some of the girls would mess-up and start to raise it backwards. Of course, the counselors always corrected them.

An improperly displayed flag DRIVES ME NUTS. I do not hesitiate to get up on a podium and put the flags in the proper order. The US flag is on the speaker's right, the observe's left. I bet you I've done it 50 times.
