Is the Good Friday/Easter week a good time to go or is it very busy during that holiday week? Also, what is the weather like down there at that time of year?

I am taking my 3 daughters (5,9,11) there for their first trip to Disney and want to make it a good one.

Easter weeks (before and after) are the second busiest time at the parks. This past Easter was incredible -- Fastpasses were sold out by Noon, waits were 130-minutes at Test Track. It is very, very, crowded. However, we go every year at this time because of my son's school schedule, but with careful planning you should be all right.
Go early to the parks, leave by Noon to go back to your room, and return to the parks after dinner. One good thing -- the MK is usually open quite late, and there are always two showing of Fantasmic at MGM and two Spectro parades each night.

This past Easter, they closed the MK to outside guests for a couple hours each day because of crowds. It was definitely the worst Easter in the 9-years we have been going. If there is any other time of year that you can go (other than Xmas) I would consider going another time. Try and stay away from MK on Easter Sunday -- very crowded!!!

I 2nd everything disneydiz said and will add avoid the waterparks-TL was at capacity by 11:00am-it was insane.

And then with Easter being earlier next year and with the Spring Breaks and Cdn March Break all around the same time..............

For a first trip I would stay away! It could be very frustrating and tiring......

We have gone around this time for the past four years and with each year it has steadily gotten busier and busier.........

Next year we have decided not to go, maybe!

I agree with the above posters. We were there this year the weeks of March 29th and the week before Easter, April 5th.

March 29th was fairly nice but once the Saturday before Easter hit (April 3rd) things were bedlam!!! I cannot recall it being this busy in the all the years we have been going.

If you have a choice, avoid the week before Easter and the week after!!
