Our group (16 people) wants to go have a good dinner off-site. We'll be staying at ASSp. I believe the closest main road is W. Irlo Bronson Hwy. What family-friendly restaurants do you recommend that are quite close to the hotel? We'll all be taking cabs. I have had Angels Buffet recommended to me and, while it looks really great, I don't think any of us would be willing to spend $40/pp for dinner off-site the first night kwim?

Any other suggestions would be most appreciated! Thanks! :flower3:

Check out http://www.dinekissimmee.com/ and click on American.

There is a Cracker Barrel which is popular and not that expensive. Also Denny's and IHOP. Outback Steakhouse (a bit more expensive that the others mentioned).

My sentiments exactly - I'm surprised the DIS didn't *** the title of the thread!

:thumbsup2 I'd have to say, with a fam, and different tastes, and poss. little ones who may not have 100% found their restaurant manners just yet, don't discount the food court.
1~ there's a decent variety
2~ Its huge, so unless its *rush hour*, there should be plenty of room
3~ Its not exactly quiet, so less than perfect behavior would go un-noticed (nothing outrageous)
4~ Its quick, which is good, when time or patience is short
((JMO~ I wouldnt want dinner there every night, but ASMO's food court was certainly adequate on a few occaisions, for these reasons ((I took out breakfasts from there every morning for the room, was a fine way to get a quick start)):goodvibes

I second Cracker Barrel. Good comfort food at reasonable prices.

There are a lot of restaurants on I-Drive. It is not that far. Do not eat at Golden Corral, it was awful. If you have small children, there is a huge McDonalds that has a playground and arcarde.

The problem with International Drive is that the party of 16 will all be taking cabs. Highway 192 is much closer.

Thanks for the suggestions - keep 'em coming! :thumbsup2 I edited the thread title because Brenda is right :lmao: Funny I didn't notice that when I typed it because I said the same thing in the ASSp info thread (nobody replied to it, so I thought I was the only one that thought the whole name was a bit naughty - glad to know I'm not alone in thinking that :rotfl2:)

Looking at the map, I'm thinking W. Irlo Bronson Hwy is the closest main road to ASSp - is that right? As we're all taking cabs, the closer the restaurant is, the better kwim?

I was looking at the great link provided by disnut8 (thanks!) and I think one of the Cracker Barrels is close, along with other restaurants.
