Some quick info from our trip last week (Nov. 6-16).

We had a fantastic dinner at Flying Fish, Sunday 11/15. I used to love FF, but had been less than thrilled last few tries. But this trip redeemed it. We did not have ADRs, walked up for 2 people around 7pm. Place was half full. Asked for low-bar (in front of the fire/kitchen). Seated right away. Apps: tuna tartare and mozz&tomato salad. Both excellent. Entrees: Red Snapper (loved it!) and scallops. Both great. Had great server and fun conversation with the saute chef who was cooking right in front of us. Could not fit dessert - too full. Had great wines by the glass. I'm pleased to highly recommend it once again.

A surprise winner was Paradiso 37, lunch on Wednesday Nov. 11th. Walked in, two of us, almost no one in the place. We shared four dishes: fish fritters, quesadillas, 4 different tacos in a set, and crazy corn. Could have skipped the tacos -- good but not great. but the other three dishes were excellent! I was shocked how good the crazy corn was (smothered in cheese and spices). It isn't health food, but fun food. (Good marg's with Herradura anjeo were outstanding as well).

Happy eating!
