Good Eats Offsite but Close to Disney

We hit Golden Corral twice (different ones)
We were planning to do Planet Hollywood wait time was like 2 hours, kids were starving so we searched for restaurants on the GPS and came up with Golden Corral.

A couple of different places that are not your typical chain restaurants:

Rio Mexican Grille - great authentic Mexican food with a live band most nights. Great prices and Margarita specials! It's on West Irlo Bronson.

Giordano's (this is a smaller chain restaurant, but good and different) - yummy pizza and italian style food. If you are going for the deep dish Chicago style pizza, allow 40 minutes for the pizza to cook or call ahead. This is just down from Crossroads on Apopka-Vineland I think.

Love the Orlando ALe House!!!! We also have our tradional "just got to Orlando lunch" at Chick-fil-a!

There is a sandwich place at Downtown DIsney someone help me out I forget the name, that was affordable and had delicious soup & sammies!Oh EARL or Sandich! They have breakfast sammies & fruit too.

Mmmm...love, love Earl of Sandwich. So good!! We also like Sweet Tomatoes! If you like Greek Food Opa is also good and has a fun vibe at night.

we go a few late mornings, every trip, for their huge breakfast buffet. it's one of the best values around (and there are coupons in the coupon books as you exit the restaurant). restaurant is clean and food is very, very good.

If you like Pizza I would suggest Flipper's Pizzaria. Very good pizza and reasonably priced. The one closets to Disney is on State Rd 535. They also had coupons in may of the local brochures.

we were thrilled to discover the flippers in crossroads! delicious food, and very reasonable.

We love love love Giordanos Pizza. When we have a car, we always stop at Giordanos. The pizza is soooooo good. It is huge and very filling. It does take about 40 minutes to cook, but it is so worth it. Even though we order a small, we always end up with a doggie bag.

We also hit Friendly's for their butter crunch ice cream. We don't have a Friendly's around here, so we get a gallon of it and bring it back to the room. Yum Yum!!

I am looking for good food not in the parks but close. Not expensive...for a family. We have a car.

You say "not in the parks but close". I don't consider Downtown Disney "in the parks". Earl of Sandwich is one of my favorites and very affordable. They have sandwiches, soup, salads, a kids menu, wine, beer. You fill your own soda cups so you can refill them as many times as you want. There is also a McDonalds.
