Good Eats fans... we met HIM

Imagine my surprise today when we came around the corner of the produce section at Harry's Farmer's Market and there Alton Brown was about to film a segment of Good Eats. He and the crew were very friendly. I asked DD if she recognized who he was and she whispered to me "good eats". He came up and told her "don't worry, I haven't eaten any children in over 2 weeks". I couldn't talk. I decided to ask for an autograph, but by the time I got the courage up, they were filming. We just watched the filming instead. One of the crew told me it would be about 2 months before it aired, and he thanked me for watching the show. It is possible that DS is in the background of one shot (they took several takes so he might end up on the editing room floor). So be on the watch out for Alton talking about nuts, and if you look behind his shoulder when he's at the bulk pistachios, you might just see my 14 yr DS in the back ground. He's wearing a white Karate T shirt and black shorts.

That's my favorite show on Food TV. The science explanation makes it a lot easier for me to undersand and remember.

Oh yes I have a bit of a crush on him myself. I was like a little giggling school girl. DS said I couldn't stop grinning through the whole store.
I knew he frequented Whole Foods and Harry's but it's usually the ones in Alpharetta or Atlanta. Also if you check the time shown on the show (if it is true) they usually film at odd hours like 11 pm. this was at 3:30 in the afternoon.

One thing that really impressed me was how involved he was in the shoot. He was arranging itmes on the shelves he was going to walk in front of, filling the bin area of the bulk nuts etc. It was way cool to watch.

I just love his show. That is sooo cool that you met him!
He kind of looks like Thomas Dolby (80's music). He does have a real charm about him.

I've never found a bad recipe from him or his show.

Our whole clan watches whenever possible. Have to agree...he is a cutie. Nice to hear he appeared to be a nice individual as well. Will love it if we see your DS!

The rants and raves section is good.
It tells the subject of the episodes they are filimng this year.

I noticed that a few episodes this yr were taped somewhere else. I was worried that they had moved production from the Atlanta area. It just looks like they go on location occasionally but Atlanta is still home base.

I've got a good friend who lives on Sandy Plains and Shallowford Rd and she said she's seen him in Publix there a couple of times. I shop the same store but have never seen him. Harry's is one of my favorite places.
