First off......thank you to everyone who let me vent here a week ago when I dealt with the broken kid at summer camp.
Thank you thank you thank you.
DS had is 1 week check on his broken arm today.
The good news is......His arm is healing wonderfully! The Dr. said that he can barely even see where the break was. That's good considering how awful it looked originally!
The not so great (but definitely not bad) news......According to the doc this injury is one of the more troublesome because of the location of the break. Most arm breaks do NOT end up broken again. This injury reoccurs 10% of the time. This information is compounded by the fact that DS wants (or as DS says..NEEDS) to play football this fall. He's entering junior high this fall and has made the junior high team.
Doc says maybe he could get back into the game halfway through the season.
The biggest issue at the point (these are the doctor's words) is keeping DS settled for the next 7 weeks because since the pain is gone he wants to jump around and act like his 11 yr old boyish self.
I don't think the doctor realizes what he's asking us to do!
I'm just so thrilled that those bones are healing nice and straight!! I didn't realize how tense I was until we left the appointment and I felt so relieved and glad!!
Thank you thank you thank you.
