Good deal or not?

Hello all, I'm a newbie here from Alberta. We are in process of planning our very first family vacation to Disney in September. I have checking airfares daily and most of the fares hovered around the 300$ per person mark from either Edmonton or Calgary (We are close enough to fly from either). I found fare the other day with Air Canada for $109 per person (totaling 1500$ roundtrip for my family of 4) flying out of Calgary. It seems reasonable to me as I've been searching and searching and have not found anything even relatively close to that low of a fare. I've never purchased airline tickets before (EVER!) and I'm just worried I should have held out for a better deal.

Can anyone fill me in if this was a good deal?

Thanks so much :)

Can't speak for Alberta but sounds awesome considering charter flights out of Toronto are usually min 300 ea and on Air Canada I've never seen lower than 500 (taxes include).

Try Airtransant or WestJet just to compare.

So for your family of 4 that works out to $375/person round trip. That's a pretty good deal. You MAY be able to get better but you would be risking losing that price.

My family is going to WDW in August and we are flying out of Calgary. Our ticket cost is $337/person round trip. I have seen/heard people can sometimes get tickets slightly lower than what I paid but I am very content with this price.

If I were you I would take the deal. Especially with Air Canada which is one of my favourite airlines! Have fun!

Thats a VERY good deal. I would jump on that. Flights have been fluctuating lately from $380-$700. $375 would be one of the lower prices. If thats return, I would definitely book it. Is it direct or connecting? You say Air Canada, but, is it on one of their sister companies (United, American Airlines)??? If its one of their sister companies, you also have to account for the price of checking bags (look at the websites for a breakdown of costs to check bags).

Try Airtransant or WestJet just to compare.

Airtransat doesn't do flights from Edmonton/Calgary to Orlando. We would have to book a flight to Toronto than fly off to Orlando from there. Air Transat only does packaged holidays from Edmonton (Vegas, Mexico, and some international etc). The total cost of the flights that you would have to take to get to Toronto and then with Air Transat would easily cost about $750.

Our options from are far more limited than our friends in the east. We have Air Canada, West Jet, or an american carrier like United, Continental, American Airlines. These are the more affordable ones.

That is an awesome deal - I would book it if I was you. The cheapest that I have ever flown out of Calgary to Orlando was $345 this past November and I already booked our flights for this November for $361 each. Prior to this, I never paid less than $450 for a flight. I think that anything under $500 is a great deal and to get flights under $400 is incredible so go for it!

Great Deal.... For comparison, I'm looking at paying almost $300 one way from Toronto, with a connection in Chicago.

Thanks for all of the replies everyone. I really appreciate it. The flights are with Air Canada, not one of their sister companies. Unfortunately it is not direct. We fly from Calgary to Toronto then onwards to Orlando.

We went ahead and booked the tickets. I'm relieved to hear that we got a great deal.

Thanks again :)
