I just got an offer from an owner to rent a 4 bed room TH at Regal Palms for $500/week including taxes (but not the $10/day resort fee) in September for 2 weeks. It sounds like an excellent price, maybe to good to be true?

I've read all the reviews online and on the boards here I can find, and they are mixed, most say it's great, a few say it was a little dirty and run down.

I know it's a little further out, and we're OK with that since there's less time pressure in September, and the traffic shouldn't be as bad as well. We're willing to sacrifice a little drive time for savings. I've also read that it is not as fancy as most resorts as far as furnishings go, and that's fine too, as long as it's clean and functional.

We have a big group, (8 people total) so a 4 bed is really what we need.

Our budget is so tight it squeaks, and this would seem to be perfect for us, but I'm trying to be as careful as possible.

BTW, I contacted the owner off of vacationrentalpeople. com to ask about multiple week discounts, since her price was already low. It never hurts to ask!

I'm wondering the same thing. I also found a 4 bedroom at the same place for $495 for a week in September, and was wondering why it was so low. The owner has 2 properties at this location and he's offering each at this rate. We, too, have 8 people in our group so the 4 bed seems like it would be large enough. His pics look good, nothing super fancy, but clean and well kept. It looks like it's about a 15-20 minute drive to Disney, does this sound right?

It's hurricane season, possibly the slowest month of the year for Orlando, and you are committing to 2 weeks. It's a great price, but I don't think it is necessarily a too-good-to-be-true price.

Thanks! We've gone twice before in September, but never rented for 2 weeks, always stayed at our time share or traded. Seems like a significantly lower price then elsewhere, and the resort itself looks nice. There are just a few too many negative reviews to be completely comfortable. sounds like the resort itself rents some of the unties, and does not keep them up very well.

I've been shopping around, and have found town homes in this resort for even less than $500/week, as low as $377/week. I'm waiting to hear back from that particular owner, he has excellent reviews. It looks very good so far, I'm just looking for the catch at this point.
