Anyone whose interested in VKL vouchers should check out Ebay.I just won an auction for 2 VKL vouchers for $72.With shipping I'm paying $76!( which I think is a great deal since I don't want to go through the hassle of joining connections then canceling)Of course I plan on using them at RFC but can anyone recommend other great places to use them? TIA:wave:

I can't figure out why people think this is a great deal. The VKL vouchers only cost $31/each. I joined Hotwire Savings Club for a free 1 month trial and cancelled after I had ordered my vouchers.

Try looking at Deb Wills site for menus and prices, that will give you an idea of where you would get your moneys worth. I didn't find most places (besides RFC) to be much of a deal.

Hey eeyoresmom!
You paid $76 for something that would have cost you $62 if you'd joined Hotwire and ordered them there. That extra $14 may be worth the luxury of not having to join & cancel a membership. It's not up to anyone to judge you for that. It's easy to forget to cancel on time and then you're paying that monthly fee of $7.95 for at least one, maybe 2 months....there goes the difference in your costs. And after reading some of the reviews that Mary has posted on MouseSavers regarding Connections, I would be apprehensive about joining at all!

I've purchased a few of these from Hotwire after checking the menus on Deb Wills' site. We'll be eating at the RFC because it's a family tradition. I've also chosen Alfredo's in EPCOT and Liberty Tree Tavern in MK. I figure that we'll probably break even or be slightly ahead of the game at each place depending on what everyone feels like eating those days.

I strongly suggest that you look at Allears.net - Menus from Around the World and get a good idea of what you would like to eat and where.

I guess 1) I am too lazy to cancel, and 2) I am hoping the 2005 vouchers (including the breakfast ones) are available soon, so I can order what I need for next trip and then cancel.

I actually did get a good deal on ebay. I got 3 VKL for $80.00 (including shipping) so I got them for $26.66 a piece. I thought for sure I would be outbid but I got them. I plan to use them at RFC and the Brown Derby still need to find one more place so I think I'll get more than my monies worth.

I had joined Hotwire in NOV,bought what I needed for our DEC trip and cancelled,so I don't want to TRY and join again:rolleyes: I only wanted the 2 VKLs so it was a matter of convenience for me.

As someone who has tried unsuccessfully to cancel a Connections membership several times.......I would pay a little bit more to avoid that hassle! I was getting charge monthly and it took 4 months to get it off my charge card!!!! With the trial they said I didn't call within 30 days! I called on day 21! A nightmare experience trying to get someone that can actually speak English!

just a note on canceling your membership...do it in writing rather than by phone. If you read the FAQ you can cancel either way. Send your cancellation with at a minimum delivery confirmation or even better by certified mail and you have PROOF of when they received it! According to my credit card company, they almost never have problems with continued charges for membership stuff (this or any company) if the cancellation is in writing, it's the phone calls that cause problems b/c then it's more of a your word against theirs thing.

I just cancelled Connections after buying the vouchers we needed so I happen to have their address here but you can get Hotwire or Simple Escapes or any others (all run by the same company) from the "contact us" link.

Connections is:

Membership Services
PO Box 24311
Omaha, NE 68124-0311

Autumnblue,

Hopefully you were smarter than me. I thought I'd won a good deal on two of these until I reread the auction and realized that one was a child's, meaning that I had overpaid.

I learned my lesson about bidding when I was in a rush and always read the listing twice now.

Igot mine off Hotwire, i haven't cancelled since i ordered them, because i am going to order some more, plus get our park tickets off there, i will probaly keep the memborship, to order dinner meal as gifts, hey i'm not rich, but 7.95 a month is nothing, i blow that buying junk food, which i quit doing that, so it will pay for hotwire.:Pinkbounc disneykid

you cant beat there prices, &11.50, e-bay for vouchers are a rip-off

I forgot to cancel HWS before the 30 days were up, but I sent an email to them to ask how I was supposed to cancel (which I subsequently found in the FAQ) and they canceled me without a call or writing a letter. I was actually surprised because I may need to buy some tickets before my trip in May and will probably need to join again before then.
