Good Choice in upgrading to Animal Kingdom Lodge?

Because of getting the 40% discount on rooms, I took a chance and changed our December reservation from POR to AKL. All I could get was a standard room view but jumped at the chance to go there. We've stayed at CBR and CSR (loved both but especially CSR) before but this would be our first deluxe. My kids in December will be dd9 and ds8. Will they like being at AKL?

Hoping I made the right decision!

AKL is a great hotel! There is construction going on, but I've heard it doesn't affect guests much.

I thought Animal Kingdom in general got a bad rap, we thought it was a fabulous park! The resort is amazing, dont forget to have breakfast at Boma! Yes you are stck with only busses to get to the parks (unless you drive), but I dont think youll regret staying there and with a 40% code to boot!

You will not be dissapointed - but let me be the first to warn you that you might not want to go back to the Mod's.....that's what happened to us. Have a great time!

Different resorts are like different flavors of ice cream. Either you'll like them or you won't, but noboby else can tell you which one is going to be your favorite!
