I know it's probably been asked a few hundred times but I need to ask again.
Any suggetsions for a good Chinese delivery retaurant that will deliver to SSR?
Also any good sit down Chinese restaurants in the area? Order your dinner or buffet? The only passable one we know of is way down International Drive close to Universal. And that one is only so so.

My daughter loves Chinese and we have a weekly Chinese Food night that we would like to make sure we can take her to while in Disney next month.

Why not eat at Nine Dragons in China Pavilion at Epcot? I heard it's pretty good.

We had dinner there in December 2007 as part of our CP package, the food was very good, I just wished we had gotten more.

Nine Dragons was very good when were were there, but perhaps I should have gone for the children's version of the spiced chicken. The waiter warned me of the spices and I thought I could handle it. :scared1:

As for eating take out... and seeing as you're from the New England area I feel it wise to pass along a warning my parents gave me: the Chinese restaurants in Fl do not have the same fried rice we northerners are accustomed to. Not sure what was meant by that. Just something to keep in mind.

Well, now you've got me curious as to the difference as well!! lol

Thanks for the advice. We have eaten at Nine Dragons many times and probably will again on this trip (I should have included that in my original post). Just looking for some off-site locations with a bit more variety in their menu. Nine Dragons is pretty good, after being there over a half dozen times in the last few years we would like to branch out and find some more choices for location and menu.
On site dining is tough to get to and eat at quickly. If your child decides at 5:15 she wants food, she wants it right then and there. Also with a two year old it is a bit tough to plan what to eat ahead of time, we all know they are in charge and fickle.;)

As far as the difference in the fried rice, we find that most fried rices in the Orlando area are white rice with some things added to them. In the northeast, fried rice is usually a yellow rice (sometimes a very fine grain white or brown rice as well) that gets stir fried with oil and some vegetables (peas, carrots, chives, etc) along with a protein (pork, shrimp, beef) and often some scrambled egg mixed in as well. Generally the Northeast version has more flavor but also more fat (probably where the flavor comes from :)).

I will also check out the other post as suggested.

Thanks again all, keep the ideas coming.:thumbsup2

I don't know the answer but I'm curious too... but there are varying degrees of what "good" is... to me for it to be good it must be authentic being that I am married to someone from Asia... I don't know if there is anything authentic or not near Disney World.

Ok, this may sound crazy but one of the best places is:
China 2, 16745 Cagan Crossing, Clermont, FL They delivered to the Radisson Main Gate---so I assume they would deliver to Disney. But if not map them out and Go! They had increidable sushi! Just wonderful food. When we were there we went twice in November we liked it so much. The directions were to take 192 west until it ends at hwy 27 turn right. At the 1st light there will be a Wal Mart on the left and a really cute little shopping center on the right. It is in the shopping center. It is so worth it! In case it is hard to map out there is also an ice cream place right behind it called Simka's Sweets. I wish I had their phone number. I can't wait to eat there again.

Thanks for the heads up. We will ask.

I have eaten there twice. (One pre rennovation several years ago and just recently) IMHO you "heard" wrong. I have had "real" Chinese food in Asia and lots of American Chinese food. This was BAD on both accounts! Plus even by Disney standards it's VERY overpriced! (I guess there's a reason you don't need an ADR)

I won't waste my money again!

I was also going to suggest Pei Wei, which PF Chang's counter service. It's about 12 miles from SSR.

We love PeiWei, but it also has a limited menu, mostly spicy. We actually like it better than PF Changs. (The mongolian rocks!!!) We also like Yak & Yeti, although its not your standard chinese fare.

Actually I THINK you are half right. Southern style fried rice is indeed white rice based and NE is indeed majorily yellow. They both include proteins. Southern FR also uses heavier amounts of Soy while NE uses less. I also notice that NE FR includes peas while we hardly ever see that down south. We also seem to have more onion incorperated. This is based on me being from the south but have lived in DC for a few years.

I've eaten there and it is a pretty decent mom and pop kind of chinese place. Holden had sushi there, it is one of those chinese places with sushi. I don't remeber what I had but I remember thinking it was acceptable, and the people were really nice. Not extravagant or anything, but mostly harmless.

fwiw, I've always thought 9 dragons was pretty good.

There are 2. we get our order, from the one next to Publix. the publix thta is across from Hilton Grand Vacation club on I drive.
Great food .
