Good candidates for same day FP?

What rides in each of the parks typically have same day FPs in your experience? I've been messing with my touring plans and some of them have wait times of 20 to 30 minutes in the afternoon. We're there at a low crowd time and it's not a huge deal to wait 20 to 30 minutes, but I'm suspecting I can shorten those with same day FPs. We are going in late January and the crowd levels are 2 to 5 (5's are both of our MK days, but since we're doing 2 days there, that's OK).

According to TP, today isn't a busy day (crowd level 4). And right now, I still see FPs available, even around lunch time, for Jungle Cruise, Haunted Mansion, Space Mountain, Splash, and some other things. None available for Pirates. Is this common? Jungle Cruise and Haunted Mansion were two that had longer waits on my touring plan.

In Epcot, I see FPs available for Seas with Nemo, Soarin' (very late - after 7 PM), Spaceship Earth, and, surprisingly, TT (11:55 am??).

In HS, I see lots for the shows, but also RnR, Star Tours (late afternoon), ToT, and TSM. All the big ones? Really? Hmmm.....

In AK, I see FPs for Dinosaur, EE, Kali, Safari, and PW.

Just curious if this is typical or not.

You cannot judge availability by a single check. Availability changes literally second to second and if you refresh you'll see a bunch of different options. I was just there on a 6-7 day and saw FP for my group of 5 for pretty much everything other than Pandora and 7DMT. Now some showed up more often than others but I'd gotten pretty much anything else with diligent searching and patience. I think for the most part, you can use average wait time for a rough approximation of how easy it will be to get. Things like Nemo, Dumbo, Magic Carpets, etc. pretty much showed up every single search for not too far in the future. Test Track, Space Mountain, Frozen showed up rarely but would show up with enough refreshes. Most other rides were somewhere in the middle. If there's a ride you want, refresh until you see it, grab whatever times comes up, and then keep trying to modify time until you get something acceptable.

Everything that is available looks typical. Another big factor is party size. We've had luck getting overlapping times by splitting our larger party into smaller ones.

Thanks. We are a party of 5 so it will be slightly more difficult than average, I assume.
