good books to read

It's kinda sad, but It's really really good, Alicia: My Story; I haven't read it all yet, but It's a memoir of Alicia Appleman-Jurman, a jewish girl who survived the Holocaust. It's kind of sad, like i said, but her bravery and courage is encouraging

Geez! Can't believe none of you have suggested any of Steven King's books yet! Quite a few of his made me cry! Another awesome author is Ann McCaffery, writes many Sci-Fi/fantasy series. The one I love most is Dragonriders of Pern series.

if you like suspense and mystery books then definitely Joan Lowery Nixon. She's really good and you can't figure out what happens untill the very end. my favorite of her books is The Seance, but all of them are great

omg i LOVE joan lowery nixon! shes the best msytery writer...

I would sugguest Jake, Reinvented.. i just finished it and it was amazing! and i also love the gossip girl series!

If you like comedy, then I would suggest reading Bridget Jone's Diary. It had me laughing throughout the entire book.

Catcher in the Rye is also good, depending on your personality.

I read the Nanny Diaries and liked it alot... I also recently finished reading a clock work orange... I liked it alot but its real violent and kind of hard to understand.. anthony Burgess blends Enlgish and i think its russian or something together so it has alot of termonology... Real good though!
SARA:tongue:

I think I just fell in love with you PixiePower1989...
:lovestruc :lovestruc :lovestruc :lovestruc

I saw you siggy. And I love them, absolutly, positively love them. Sid Vicious has a poster on my wall! And I got the CD's and stuff, but ya, I love em to death!

I've just finished 100 Years of Solitude by Gabriel Garcia Marquez. It's a really good book, about several generations of a family in South America. Really funny and easy to read.

I just finished Catcher in the Rye..I thought it was a good book but the main character can really get on your nerves a lot. But it's a good book for anyone, any age, male or female.

Ditto, Fifi. Also, Harry Potter, The Princess Diaries (yes, all five of them, well 6, I've also read Project Princess; I got it as well as the 5th for my b-day yesterday, and yes, I already read them both), and LOTR are exceptionally good.:hyper:

Eragon is great- by christopher paolini
the young wizard series by diane duane are really good too!

"cold mountain", charles frazier, "and then there were none," agatha christie. im told that mystic river is an excellent book, too, but i wouldnt know for myself because ive got to be a couple years older--theres quite a bit of profanity in it

Definitely Second John Grisham

Oh, I love reading his books I just finished his newest one The Last Juror. I also like Meg Cabot's books and even though these two are school books they are some of my absolute all time favorites: The Great Gatsby and A Tale of Two Cities. And don't forget The Five People You Meet in Heaven .

I just finished reading The Belljar by Sylvia Plath and I have to say it's really quite fantastic.

The Princess Diaries (yes, all five of them, well 6, I've also read Project Princess;
ha ha I have also read all five and project princess. Yay for princess diaries! My favorite book though is Catcher in the rye.

I have just started reading Lovely Bones. It is really good - it is about a girl who gets murdered in the 1970s and is telling us from heven how her family is coping with her death over the years.

Another good book (my fave ) is Memroies of a geisha by Arther Goldern. IMO this is the best book in the world - it is long and it may be too old for younder people (say 13) but it is really good and I can spend all day just reading it.

I was going to buy that from a charity shop yesterday! I can't think why I didn't actually.
