Good Book for WDW with a 1 yr old?

We are starting to plan a trip with DS when he will be 1 1/2 (19 months old). Are there any good travel books for going to WDW with a infant/toddler?

We have 3 adults, so the baby swap stuff should work well for us, but I'm looking for more information that just about the baby swap program.

I highly recommend getting "The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World 2006." As it talks specifically about what to expect when taking children, especially the youngest ones, to Walt Disney World. Be forewarned, it's a thick book with hundreds upon hundreds of pages, but it is more stocked with good information than any other book I've seen.

If you want a fun book with pictures, I always recommend "Birnbaum's Walt Disney World 2006."

You can find both at Barnes and Noble, as well as any of the major book store chains.

Is there much difference from one year to the next in these books? (other than new attractions missing?)

My library has Birnbaum 2003, and The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World 1997 (with kids is 1999) but nothing newer - and I'd prefer to get it from the library instead of buying it.

I've been to WDW and DL many times since I was a child (and I'm 40 now, so that's a LOT! ) but I've never viewed it from where i am now - with a toddler. So it's not so much on what is there etc but how to do it with a little one.

I like the for kids by kids but honestly I don't know how much they differ from year to year.

Can anyone tell me about cribs? Do you just tell them like you would say "I need a king size bed?" Should I just bring a pack and play instead? We'll be in a DVC studio, so we'll have plenty of room.

I have been to Disney countless times yet I can't tell you how clueless I feel being a mommy going to Disney.

The DVC studios had Pack n Plays right in the closet. That's all we ever use when we travel--Although, DD(22 mo) decided to climb out of it the last time we were in a hotel--I don't know what to do about sleeping arrangements from now on.


But have fun. We took Hannah 2 times before she was one, and the second trip was a 10 day trip that included Vero Beach in the middle. We would hit morning EMH, mornings she would nap in her stroller so we got a little extra time in the park, then back at the hotel for lunch/nap and maybe pool. We just really took it easier than every before, but it was alot of fun, and I don't feel like I missed anything

We brought a small stoller that had a canopy and bought a Ray Shade---this was a lifesaver. It's an extra large canopy that blocks out way more than any other stroller and was stretchy, so that when DD was napping, we could pull it down real low so that you couldn't even see her. We would know she was awake when her feet started hitting it.

Have fun, that's the most important thing.

Fodors WDW and Universal Orlando with Kids 2006 by Kim Wright Wiley was very helpful. Barnes and Noble has it with a list price of $16.95.

I would definitely check out the books from the library first. After you have read them, then maybe go to Barnes & Nobles w/o the kids and sit and look at the newer books. Then you can decide if you need to buy a newer book or not.
