The real stuff, cooked low n' slow, not boiled and grilled.

A google search for "vero beach bbq" turned up:

Bono's Pit Bar-B-Q, on Rt 1 in VB

Sonnys (which from their website looks like a chain, which isn't a good thing in my book), on 20th St in VB

Fat Boys, also on Rt 1 in VB

So, what's the best??

Go to VB a lot, but never have had BBQ. "Fat Boys" sounds like the place I'd want to get BBQ at though.

I'd go with that too, let us know if it's one of those chains(they are getting a litlle more creative with their names).

:lmao: :lmao:

I'd be interested as well... Been to VB a lot, but never have craved BBQ... There's a first time for everything..

I too search out BBQ wherever I go. Sonny's and Bono's were OK, but nothing to write home about. Walked into Fat Boy's and walked out, a complete dive. Now usually a dive is often a great place to find BBQ, but it wasn't even a "good" dive. Looked dirty, only one homeless-looking person in there (whose meal looked icky), and the place didn't even smell good like a BBQ joint should. Maybe I didn't give it enough of a chance, so if you try it, post a report!

The best BBQ we had there was at Woody's BBQ (www.woodys.com) located in Sebastian on Rte 1, about 7 miles north of the resort. It is located in a strip mall on the right hand side if going north, just past Wal-mart if I remember correctly. It too is a chain (FL, GA, and AL), but was the best (and closest) of the bunch down there.

There is also Dales BBQ (www.dalesbbq.com) in Ft. Pierce which I heard was good, but its a little far away. I thought I saw a second Dales BBQ store advertised in Vero Beach, but haven't been able to find it.

This is exactly the kind of info I was looking for. :)

Thanks!!
