Johnny Resnick said, "Boy... you guys don't know how lucky you are to be Canadian right now! It's a mess down there. We used to have a cool president..." some vulger stuff followed.

I realize that they do not have the same demographic fan base as the Dixie Chicks, but why do these entertainers feel compelled to bash the US when they play outside of the country?

Bon Jovi was AWESOME!!! Incredible show! Perfect venue!

We drove down to Niagra Falls, went to see The Lion King (also awesome), visited the CN Tower & shopped in Kensington, Chinatown & Queen Street.

Sad to be back, but I suppose it's for the best as we were running out of money anyway. ;)

More power to them. I'm embarassed at Bush's actions and I find it appalling yet somewhat amusing how the White House's spin on the intelligence story changes daily. Bush's approval rating is dropping weekly and for very good reason. He has an agenda that has nothing at all to do with WMD.

I couldn't agree more! Never been a fan of the Goo-Goos or the Dixie Broads. If it's so bad here in the U.S. move away and don't come back!

I love seeing other Bon Jovi fans. Any chance you will be at Giants Stadium? I am counting the days.

And you know so much about his agenda from... ?

Despite my dismay with the previous administration, I would never speak disparagingly about my government in a foreign country to a mass audience. It's unpatriotic, insensitive and just plain inappropriate.

I'm embarrassed at American's who complain daily about our government and the country we're so lucky to inhabit. As I would say to them if given the opportunity that I now say to you: If you feel so strongly that the majority of Americans agree with you, take it to the polls next year.

addicted_to_WDW,

Just curious, did you vote in the last presidential election?

Aahh, what a great country we live in when we can publicly disagree with our government and our president without fear of severe retribution.;)

Oh I wish!!! Unfortunately I paid an arm & a leg for the 10th row seats in Toronto :( So I'm tapped out for this tour. I can tell you that you are in for a treat!!! Just wish the "kids" sitting next to us hadn't felt compelled to light up a joint in the middle of the show :( If you have 10th row seats, why in the world would you want to get stoned and not remember it???

It's unpatriotic to speak your mind against a war for which the government lied about its justification? IMHO, it's unpatriotic to sit by and let your country be destroyed by an administration hell bent on alienating the rest of the world in its quest for total domination.

And please, lets not get into the "if you don't like it leave" argument. Because I'm American I'm permitted to speak out against the government's actions. It's in the Constitution...check it out. Being an American doesn't mean sitting silently by when everything that your president is doing is immoral. I have a big problem with lying about the reason for going to war. Bush knew the evidence did not support the invasion and he chose to ignore it while he hollered about the threat to Americans by Iraqi WMD. Then, when nothing was found, it became, "oh, we're freeing the Iraqi people." Are we now going to free everyone else who is oppressed? Don't think so.

Based upon your post I would say that you lean toward the Democratic party. I thought you would like to read this article....

Open Mic Catches California Democrats

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Unaware that a live microphone was broadcasting their words around the Capitol, Assembly Democrats meeting behind closed doors debated prolonging California's budget crisis for political gain.

Members of the coalition of liberal Democrats talked about slowing progress on the budget as a means of increasing pressure on Republicans.

A microphone had been left on during the closed meeting Monday, and the conversation was transmitted to about 500 "squawk boxes" that enable staff members, lobbyists and reporters to listen in on legislative meetings.

Some members of the group, including Assemblywoman Jackie Goldberg, said if the budget crisis were extended, it could improve chances for a ballot initiative that would make it easier for the Democrats to raise taxes by lowering the threshold for passage from two-thirds to 55 percent.

"No one is running" for re-election, she said, according to a transcript made by Republicans. "And maybe you end up better off than you would have, and maybe you don't. But what you do is show people that you can't get to this without a 55 percent vote."

Assembly Republican Leader Dave Cox said that he was disappointed that Democrats would consider using the budget crisis to their political advantage.

Assembly Speaker Herb Wesson, a Democrat, tried to brush aside criticism of the meeting, calling it a "bull session" that didn't have much significance.

"For anyone, Democrat or Republican, to think there is some political advantage in this crisis, I think they are wrong," he said.

Goldberg said her comments were part of a larger discussion about whether it would be better to make deeper cuts this year to give taxpayers a taste of how bad things would be without a tax increase.

"It meant whether or not we do the things this year or next year that let the public understand how serious the situation is," Goldberg said.

4cruisin...yes I did (a lot of good that did me and the rest of the majority of Americans who didn't vote for Bush). ;) :)

I read about that yesterday and its disgusting. I trust politicians on neither side of the Democrat/Republican agenda. Everyone looks out for their own best interests. I prefer to look at individuals rather than political parties. I've voted for Republicans in the past, and I've voted for Democrats, and what I try to do is vote for the individual closest to my own personal beliefs.

By the way, the California fiscal crisis has nothing whatsoever to do with the Bush administration's handling of the Iraq situation.

I may disagree with you regarding the current administration, however, the following is the best point I have seen in this thread.

As far as the Goo Goo Dolls, they are a good band. Last I heard they could say and do whatever they liked per our constitution. And as far as them earning their "millions" they, like most music artists, have had their troubles with the music companies and producers. They also have earned their dollars internationally.

BTW I am a huge Bon Jovi fan and will be seeing this double bill on July 29!:bounce:

I hear ya, I paid an alot for 9th row seats at Giants (and I am a fan club member, but couldn't get fan club tickets, had to go through ebay). I saw them at the Meadowlands in Feb also. Nothing like a Bon Jovi show. I don't get that either about getting stoned. Maybe b/c I've never been into it myself, but I agree with you, why?

Since this isn't the debate board, I won't go into anything too deep, but I am disappointed that another American band would go to a foreign country and bash our President.:(

BTW, how were the Goo Goo Dolls? That's a band I'd love to see -- adding them with Bon Jovi would be a pretty cool double bill. :) :)
