Gonna try this one more time

Wednesday was early morning at Magic Kingdom. My grandson wanted to wake up Tinkerbell. When they did the usual countdown, he and his momma ran down Main Street. I was busy, taking my usual picture under the clock, on the left side of Main Street. By the time that I had finished riding Dumbo. he had his certificate in hand, that he had actually gotten to wake up Tinkerbell. Seems it was 3 wands and 5 swords, that morning, which means 3 girls and 5 boys had the honors. I rode IASW and tea cups, and then I was off to the barbershop for a haircut.

The barber shop was very crowded. Many little shaggy headed children miraculously turned into quite handsome little boys. A little girl emerged with a pretty hairdo and pixie dust. I opted for a few blue mickeys. My grandson had a short haircut spiked in purple. We even met the chef, from the Contemporary, who gets his haircut about every other week, no pixie dust or gel for him. Mom had been able to have her picture taken also with all 7 dwarves outside on Main street.

We headed back down Main Street, and had some superlong, Super good hot dogs at Casey's Got fastpasses for Splash Mountain, and headed over to Tom Sawyer Island. My grandson enjoyed a root beer float. I snatched some whipped cream. That cave is "one wicked walk through for this almost 60 Granny". We stopped at the Golden Horseshoe saloon, and my grandson got to wake up both Jessie and Woody. We got pics and autographs. We decided to catch the train back to Main Street, for the afternoon parade.

We boarded the train and rode to Toontown and they stopped the train, because of rain. Our fastpasses were for 3:15. The parade was delayed. We decided to leave Magic Kingdom, rather than fight the crowds. We did not know at that time,whether the parade or Splash Mountain would be running in the rain. I now have a souvenir fastpass for Splash.

I decided to Resort hop. I left my grandson and his momma, and rode the monorail to the Contemporary. While there, I asked at CHef Mickey's if I could get in for the first seating at Dinner. I got lucky. I can only say, that it was my most pleasurable experience at that restaurant. I was treated like royalty. Had my picture taken. Got a special placemat. Food was delicious. Eat there, if you get the chance. It was the highlight of my trip

I connected up with my grandson and mom at MGM. It was still overcast and drizzly. Did not know if Fantasmic would show. We went in late at 8:30, got seats to the far left. The show was its usual fantastic. A bit different on the left.

Well looks like I may get this report in. Tomorrow is the day, that we switched from POR to the Beach Club. I will post again tomorrow

OK, this is a new one. How and where did your grandson get to "wake up Tinkerbell"? I have been visiting about 2X per year for last 9 yrs and have never heard of this. Thanks for sharing your secret.

There is a store in Fantasyland called Tinkerbell's Treasures. I actually read about this on this website. I told both my grandson and his momma about this when we planned our trip. The thing is, that you are suppose to be the first child to arrive at the store. The child is suppose to ask if they can wake up Tinkerbell. A little ceremony is then performed, and the child is given a certificate. I did not run down Main Street with them, so I did not actually see this. I have only heard about it. Some children try countless times and are never the first. My grandson was very fortunate. They have obviously changed the policy, because he said that although he got there first, they actually used 8 children that morning. Just a little bit of magic in Fantasyland. Special moments for the little ones.

When I was getting my haircut in the Barbershop, there was a little blond- headed boy, about one year old who was getting his first haircut. They gave him mouse ears, that said first haircut, and also a certificate. Nice touch, more magic.
