in my yard that is... I have a very short amount of time in the garden area and front yard for direct sunlight so I am having these three trees taken down (the ones in the front of the picture) as well as two others in the fron yard to get sun for most of the day... It should make a big diff... I hope.

Taking down trees is never easy. Believe me, I know. Since moving to this house 12 years ago, we must have removed at least 12 trees easily and various large bushes. Hard to believe we had so many on this piece of property. Some were removed professionally, some we did on our own. It hurts each time, not just physically and financially, but emotionally too. After all, they are living things.

I remember the first ones we took down - tall overgrown evergreens surrounding the deck. And we did it on Earth Day, no less. :( :(

Anyhoo - Sometimes it is necessary and I wish you luck and sunshine with the removal of your trees.

I love the woodsy look of your lot Nat, but I can understand wanting to let in more light, and you'll still have lots of nice trees. :)

Tulirose, you're such a soft-hearted sweetie! :) :)

I'm with Kim...I love the woodsy, cool look, but I also understand the desire for more light.

I also love the woodsy look, but I do understand your need for more light.
