My husband is wanting to play golf while on our vacation. What course do you recommend that he play? He'll be playing alone. I know that he would like to go to a course that has a Mickey shaped sand-trap. :earsboy: Anyone know where this is? Also, would the WDW courses allow me to ride along, but not play? Any advice about golfing at the World would be appreciated!

I've played on 4 of the 5 Disney courses. In my opinion, the most difficult and most beautiful course is Ospry Ridge. But if your husband wants to play on one of the courses that the pro's play on in October, then he should book the Palm (which is the one with the Mickey bunker) or the Magnolia.

A good, independent, resource for information about the Disney courses is:

The Mickey sand trap is the 6th hole on the Magnolia course. I agree that Osprey is the most beautiful, but also more difficult. I think either the Magnolia or the Palm are good first courses.

Don't worry about playing alone. Your husband will be set up to play with other golfers. It's a blast.

I have only played in the summer when the courses are crowded. During that time of the year, I don't think you could ride along and not play. I don't know about other times when the courses may not be as crowded.

:earsboy: Tell Hubby to watch out for the Gators !!! Last time I played there I saw 3 of them......closest was about 25 yards, but it still gets your attention !!! Have fun.......  :scared1:

when are you going down?.....we will be there in a couple weeks and are going out as a twosome......your husband would be welcome to join us if he will be down there then.....

One year while playing the Palm course, I overhit the green that had water behind it. I parked the cart and began to walk across the green to my ball, and before it went into the water, it was stopped, by a GATOR! I gladly took a drop. FYI, playing for "fun", I prefer the Village course.
