Has anyone been golfing at WDW around the time of the Funai Classic (that's usually around 10/20)? DH loves to golf every day when we're at WDW, so we're wondering if we should avoid going during that time. I was wondering if the other courses are busy after the classic, thinking that maybe the PGA event would bring in many interested in golf. And we were wondering if just before the event, courses are closed to the general public so that they'll be in pristine condition for the tour golfers. Anyone with any info?

I've never played golf at WDW so I'm just going to bump this back to page one, so that some of our veterans can offer advice.

There will always courses open to WDW golfers, even during events like the Classic. However, your husband may not necessarily get his first choice of courses. And tee times WILL be a bit harder to get, but not impossible.

If golfing is a priority, and there are certain courses he prefers over others, you may want to visit just after the Classic. The courses will be less crowded and in top-notch condition.

DH golfed during that time in 2002. I believe that the Palm was closed for the entire week (for practice rounds) and the Magnolia was closed off from Thurs - Sunday. I may have those backwards but he was able to play on one of those earlier in the week. The rest of the courses are opened but as WDSearchers states, it may be a bit crowded.

Hope it helps!!!
