DSis and hubby will be staying at Aulani for 8 days in March. They have asked me about Golf while they are there and I am clueless. Can anyone give me any advice to share with them?

There is a course across the street from aulani but I am not sure if it is open to public. There are a more a few miles away. just google golf courses in the ko Olina area and the courses will come up. We have done that to find tennis courts.

There is a course right outside Aulani. It is a public course and you can rent golf clubs there as well. It is pretty pricey though, especially if you need the clubs!

Golfing across the street at Koolina is cheap compared to Kapalua (where DSis and hubby will be before Aulani). It is $400+ per round at Kapalua!!! I am glad I don't golf. I could never afford it! I see other courses on Oahu that are cheaper than Koolina. They will have a car but not sure if the other courses are as nice as Koolina.

The two courses that are closest and almost as nice would probably be Kapolei and Ewa International....both are open to the public. A little further into town Pearl Country Club is also challenging....

My husband and boys played there across the street from Aulani. They all had a great time. My teenage boys loved the carts. I think they had some sort of gps and tv thing.

I've never played a full round at Ko'Olina (across the street course) as I never had the time needed, but I did go over a couple times to hit some balls on the range and to practice putting a little just to break up the trip...I recall being able to borrow a set of clubs for free, very nice team in the pro shop....

Jekjones1558, I would give Aulani a call. Seems like they may have some sort of agreement (hopefully some kind of small discount maybe???) with this course. I hope so!

And I know what you mean about Kapalua's prices! Every time we have gone to Maui, DH said he was going to play the Plantation Course there. We are often there around the time of the PGA kickoff Champions Tourney. Finally a year ago he played and loved it! It was a better price than $400 though. I can't recall the price for certain but I thought it was more like $300+? No doubt the price changes during various times of year. But how cool that he can say he has played that legendary course! If he ever does it again I'm going to do a ride along. :flower:
