Does anyone know what the rates are at the different courses in the fall (I know the rates change sometime in September-this would probably be after that) with the DVC card? I know there are supposed to be "special rates" with the card, but I can't find more specific info than that. Also, has anyone tried to play around the time of the PGA tournament at WDW? Are the courses closed to the public before the tournament, after for a period of time?

I can help on the last part of your question - We went for the tournament in 2002 and I know that DH played during that time. I think he even played on a tournament day. On 10-14 (probably Monday?) he played at Osprey Ridge. On 10-16 (Wednesday?) he played at Lake Buena Vista and on 10-18 (Friday?) he played at Osprey Ridge again. Friday was a tournament day. So the long answer to your question is, yes you can play on the courses not being used for the tournament which I think are only the Palm and Magnolia. If you've never been to the tournament it is kind of fun. Although I remember there not being many places to stake out a seat near a hole where there was shade. Maybe they were all occupied? I don't know what the costs to play are. DH has a DVC golf card. He does call at the first chance to make the reservations - 90 days. That could be different for rounds using the DVC card, or not. He is really the expert on WDW golf. I "let" him play, so I can go back year after year!!
We're headed back again in October for the tournament. He has applied to be a volunteer. Hope it gets the chance to do that. We met someone on the cruise that does that each year and he said it was a good experience.
