DH is a golfer and usually he leaves his clubs at home for family vacations but he is considering going out for a fun round and renting some clubs. He is going to give this a try in Scottsdale next week, so we will see how it goes (Scottsdale is a catering to a different group of people as well). I'm having a hard time seeing him enjoying playing with out his clubs.

Anyway... What would be a good golf course for him to try? Sandridge? Anything else? Does DVBR have any arrangements with local private courses?

There are several courses not that far maybe 10 to 15 min drive, played there once several years ago, it was in May and I beleive I only payed $100 for 2 with rental clubs.
Can't remember the name but I do think it had 2 18 hole courses.

That probably was Sandridge. Good course, I enjoyed both courses there. There are also severla other areas courses within 15-45 minutes, that are inexpensive and enjoyable.

I was going to play last summer, and the concierge suggested a few courses in the area. The one that got the best reviews was closed for renovation as I recall, and I opted not to play as the others in my group bailed on me. I'd give them a call and they'll be able to set him up good:thumbsup2
