Golf tee times

I have been trying to make tee times for the first week of May using a DVC golf card. According to DVC web site and members services that is during VALUE SEASON and tee times can be booked up to 90 days in advance. The only restriction being tee times are after 10AM. When I called to make a tee time I was told I could not make one until 14 days in advance until after April 30th then the 90 days in advance goes into effect. Who is right? Did anyone ever make tee times during May using DVC golf card and what was there experience.

Thank you

Hi! We always use our DVC membership when making tee times. We leave next week and I made my tee times in Nov. I would call back the master starter and try again, sometimes you'll get someone who is new and doesn't really know the rules. Good Luck! :thumbsup2

The rules, printed explicitly on the website (both DVC and Disney golf) indicate that tee times from January through April can only be made 14 days in advance with the DVC golf membership. So, you apparently lucked out.

BOOKING WINDOW:
Tee times may be made as far as 14 days in advance January 21 - April 30, and as far as 90 days in advance for remainder of the year.

Wow, that's good to know, is that something that might be new as of 1/1/06? :confused3

Not as far as I know. I have considered the golf membership for several years and I know this has been a restriction I have seen the last couple years.

The membership is well worth the price. You can play for almost half price as long as you don't mind playing after 10am. We go down to play twice a year, in Feb. and sometime during the summer, and have always had the 10am tee time at which ever course we are playing. As long as you get a tee time between 10 and 11 you don't waste your whole day on the couse. If you're interested I would definately pull the trigger on purchasing the membership.

Sounds like you'll be golfing the same time as DH. He's used the DVC card for May tee times in the past. He's never had any problem booking in late February for May. But are the May rates out yet?

I'm also there the last week of April and first week of May and had the same problem. It seems to me that the wording is misleading. Originally I understood it to mean that you could only book 14 days in advance to play between January 21st and April 30th, and 90 days in advance to play after that. When trying to book on the website or over the phone it seems that you can book 14 days in advance between January 21st and April 30th, and book 90 days in advance after that.

In the end I booked to play four of the courses as a resort guest, playing twice after 3pm using the twilight rate, which works out pretty cheap, and twice at 8am which isn't so cheap, but at least I know I have tee-times reserved.

What's even more frustrating is that the DVC members website states the 14 day restriction only applies up until April 25th. I e-mailed member Services about it and got a standard reply, e-mailed again asking for clarification and still didn't get an answer in the response, tried once more and then gave up. It seemed they were incapable of understanding and answering a very clearly worded, simple question :rolleyes2

Hi again! I just got off the phone with WDW-PLAY (I think that's what the phone # is) to get the May rates and get some info on booking. You can book now for the first week in May-it is 90 days. And then, if you can get something with DVC rates or AP rates within 14 days, just cancel these ressies. That's what DH is going to do since his first requirement is he MUST play golf, regardless of the rates. And be aware that if you're going the very first week of May (5/1-5/5), two of the courses are closed all week (I think it was Magnolia and EP), making the other courses more crowded, therefore it will be harder to get tee times. So good luck trying to get decent tee times within 14 days. DH doesn't hold out much hope, and he's pretty upset-"Why don't they treat their bread and butter customers [DVC and APholders] better?"

Thanks for the information. That's very useful.

Does it seem to anyone else that this may be one of those things that has slipped through the cracks of reason.

If I'm understanding this correctly one could call in December and make tee times for mid March since it would be less than 90 days. But mid March is Spring Break and a great time to play golf at WDW and higher rates reflect this.

But for May 1 when it is not nearly as crowded and getting hot, you can't call until mid April!? :confused3

I wonder if the rule was set by one person/group who meant to limit the tee times for Spring and being enforced by a whole different set of CMs. :confused3

Doesn't sound like they are applying the policy correctly.

Ahhh that's why I can't get Eagle Pines for 4th May. I can't seem to find it for the last week of April either, which is a shame as it's the only one I haven't managed to book, and I was hoping to play all 5 during this holiday

On May 4th, only 2 courses are available-LBV and Palm. 5/1-5/4, there were only 2 courses available each day (we got this info while spending close to an hour last night trying to book all DH's tee times).

Yes there seems very little choice for that week. You can also get Osprey Ridge on the 4th, according to the online booking system. I've spent hours over the last few weeks trying to get the right tee times to fit in with our schedule, it's getting to be an obsession checking regularly incase any new tee times appear (a few have now and then) :surfweb:

I've got Osprey Ridge booked for 1st May at 3.20pm (hope there will be enough time to finish before it gets dark), and LBV for 2nd May at 8.12am.

I'm not sure which one i'm looking forward to most. Osprey Ridge sounds fantastic, but LBV kind of feels like my home (SSR) course :goodvibes
