We are staying on site for 2 weeks but will have our own vehicle with us. My son has been saving in the hopes of finding somewhere to go shopping for golf stuff, clubs etc. during our stay. Does anyone know of somewhere close to Disney?

There's a GolfSmith up near Millenia Mall. There are golf shops all over the place around here.

My DH had a set of custom clubs made based on his swing at a shop next to the Publix at Kings Gate in Clermont (the one right in the Publix Plaza, not next to Blockbuster) and they were very affordable--I want to think the set of irons and woods, plus a putter, bag, shoes, and some odds and ends was under $600. He loves them because they were designed for him and they have improved his game. They aren't "PING" quality, but he only plays a couple dozen times a year, so they're perfect for him. It took about a week from teh time they "fitted" him until they were finished IIR.

There are pro shops at the WDW (and most of the local) courses, but DH says they are very expensive.

You will be very close to an Edwin Watts Superstore. It is off of I-4. Take the Sand Lake Road exit (74A), turn left on to Sand Lake Road, then at the next intersection, Turkey Lake Road, turn right. The store is maybe 1/4 or 1/2 mile on the right. There are also 2 more Edwin Watts stores on International Drive. Hope that helps!

Edwin Watts is definitely the best, but if you dont find what you are looking for there, check out the Special Tee Golf and Tennis shop on I-Drive. It is just past Kirkman but before Festival Bay on the right hand side...
