I've got some golfers in the big trip I'm planning and the question came up as to whether or not they can use the dining plan at the golf course...does anyone know the answer to this? I haven't had golfers along before so I'm clueless, but I'm assuming there's a snack bar or restaurant near each of the golf courses. Everyone is planning to use DDP, but it might be a big waste for a couple of guys because some of them plan to play everyday. Help! I'm very familiar w/the dining plan, but this is a question I hadn't thought about...

Well I checked this link for the DDP PDF:

The only golf course locationa I saw, was at Osprey Ridge, the Sand Trap bar & grill. There are of course all of the resort restaraunt locations as well. :)

Dining at Osprey Ridge (TS Meal)

Sit down for a meal at The Sand Trap Bar and Grill to enjoy breakfast, lunch or light dining, as well as a full-service bar. Dine outside on the verandah that is open all day and overlooks the scenic eighteenth greens of the Osprey Ridge Golf Course. This restaurant gets good reviews. If they plan to play, eat and replay this course using a TS for lunch here would be an excellent choice.

Stop by The Artist's Palette (CS Meal).
any time of the day for omelets, made-to-order sandwiches, fresh-tossed salads, and custom pizzas — along with nightly dinner entrees.
Turf Club (TS Meal).

There is no DP eatery available at the Palm, Magnolia and Oak Trail clubhouse. I was just there last month. I would suggest the golfers grab sandwiches from the Grab & Go section of their resort CS. I'd also suggest having breakfast prior to leaving for the course. On my recent trip I played Oak Trail in the early afternoon and ate a late breakfast before playing around 12:30/1pm. I did have an early dinner as I found by 4pm I was pretty hungry. I've also played Osprey and should have taken something with me. Instead I rolled out of bed and saved my appetite for our family TS buffet meal around 5PM. I had a 10am or so tee time that day. I wasn't willing to spend a TS credit at Sand Trap and miss a meal with my family. I also really didn't have time for that either.

One thing a lot of Disney golfers may not know. As long as you are playing a Disney course and staying at a Disney resort, Disney provides complimentary taxi service to and from the course. Just check with your concierge or front desk staff. Another service I have not used, Disney Golf will also store/transport their clubs too. That should be a real convenience for daily golfers. Osprey and Lake Buena Vista are stand alone courses. Palm, Magnolia and Oak Trail are all served out of the same Club House (near the Shades of Green military resort).

I would keep the DP for the group and tell the golfers to get excited to golf at WDW. Disney has some really wonderful courses and I have always found the staff and fellow golfers to be polite and friendly. Shoot I wish I was joining them.
