Golf course questions

Anyone have comments about the current condition of the courses? (I'm sure they are kept up well, but if there is any temporary greens/tees, etc. - or if you know an aeration schedule, that kind of stuff.) I'm going to book a tee time for morning of Oct 15 - just wondering which course to try (other than Osprey, already played there). I'm leaning toward Magnolia, because it will be on TV for the tourney the following week - but sometimes they grow the rough up so high for the pros! I'm staying at OKW, so thought playing Lake Buena Vista might be cool. Any comments welcome.

Also, sorry, didn't know where else to post this. (When DIS did the poll a few weeks ago, I suggested a "sports" board!)

When DH played Magnolia several weeks ago, it wasn't in good condition at all-he was surprised because the courses at WDW always seem in very good condition. The pro even apologized for the condition at that time, and you bring up a good point. He's played at LBV twice while we've stayed at OKW, and yes, it's very cool. While they were playing they took a neat picture of our villa from the golf course. There's a great site (I THINK it's www.wdwgolf.com) which may be able to answer some questions about aeration schedules and closures.

The Magnolia and Palm may be closed that close to the tournament. Growing that good grass takes time! It seems like they were closed last year when we were there prior to the tournament. Are you going to be there for the tourney? It is pretty fun and you get to see lots of good/great players.
Call the pro shop and they will let you know what's available. DH has played all the courses, I think. He also enjoys the LBV course.
