Thanks for posting this, it is just a shame that so many don't read this when it is given to them.

I hardly ever see someone in a cart yield or pull over to give a larger vehicle the right of way, you usually see a line of vehicles behind the clueless cart driver, no wonder people have to wait for the busses.

Your welcome. Sad to say but I did not read it until we had been back home for 2 weeks. I don't know if they had given this this to us on other trips or not because I never look at all they give us at check in. Thats one reason I posted it. If it would have been on here I would have already known the rules. Plus I like that it lets people know that a gas cart is ok.

I noticed these rules were posted on the information board at the comfort station. That was in Nov.

I think people are missing the meaning of the rule about golf carts yielding to larger vehicles. You are not supposed to get off the road to let larger vehicles by. To do so is impossible on many of the roads. I had a cart for 3 weeks. It just says stay as far as possible to the right side of the road, not to get off the road. To do so would put you on the sidewalk a lot of the time or tipped over in a ditch. The rules also say carts are to stay on paved roads.

We stay far to the right, and if somebody comes up behind us, we pull over at the nearest safe place -- a driveway, road, wider shoulder, etc.

I have seen carts just keep going slowly down the street, with a line of traffic behind them, passing up plenty of places to pull over.

Is there anything special you need to do when you bring your own cart?

Not that I am aware of. If your cart is gas just make sure its not loud. Mine is gas and its fine I have the stock muffler on it.

Have fun :thumbsup2

Before I found the "dis" I was looking at carts, and called the bike barn, they said that gas carts needed to have a "hospital" muffler on it for them to allow it there. I called everywhere, and no one knew what that was!! IIRC that is how I found the Dis. Looking for fort GC info. LOL

For the right amount of money I can make you a hospital muffler.:lmao:

Nothing special to bring your cart. They do state you are supposed to follow the same rules as if you were using their cart. It's mostly common sense things.

Not sure if this will get answered on here or if I should start a new thread. We have a club car, will it be necessary to bring our charger, or do they have chargers on site we can use?
TIA

Disregard-
I just read the parking FAQ states that there are charging locations in various spots.

Kenny, yeah its BYO. Disney carts have the charger in an interior compartment with only the cord showing to prevent theft.

If I'm not mistaken, the checkin rules also state not to drive your personal vehicle in and out of the campground, so i give no quarter to PV, only buses and rigs coming in or out.

Isn't a hospital "muffler" just a warm scarf?
