Golf cart return question

This has probably been asked, but I couldn't find anything on it.

If we rent a cart we only want to rent it for one day. So if we pick it up in the morning do we have to return it that night? Or is it a 24 hour rental and we can return it the next morning?

We really only need it that one day but I don't want to have to go through the hassel of returning it that night since we have a lot planned. But we won't bother if we would have to pay another day on it.

Knowing it is a 24 hour rental how late can you return a cart? We will be s
staying at another Disney resort but want to spend the day at the fort ending with the hoop-de-do review. Not wanting to waste time with the busses we thought about renting a cart. How late can we return it the same day?

I called today to make my reservation. Carts are picked up and dropped off at the front desk so they can be dropped off anytime. They have the same hours as site check in and check out. So they are picked up at 1pm and have to be returned at 11am. They told me if there are carts available that morning it is possible to pick them up earlier, but they are not guaranteed until 1pm.

Ours is reserved!
