We are staying at the fort in a cabin in a few weeks. :yay: We have never stayed there before, and we are not sure how much of an issue transportation will be. We have decided to rent a golf cart to make sure we can get around as we need to. If I find that we don't really need it, can I return it early for a partial refund? TIA

If you are renting through FW, yes, they allow early returns with partial refund.

The golf cart return time is 11 am so if you rent it for 3 days and bring it back by 11 am the day after you rent it you will be refunded 2 days.

Can anyone tell me if it has to be returned at exactly 11 AM, or can you return before that time. 11 is prime park time for us :))

you can return the cart at any time, the return lot is always open and like ForeverAlice said there is a drop box for you key.

Your cart can be returned anytime before 11 am, but you will still be charged the full daily rate.

I also would not recommend key drop for a premature return, as that would only confuse the Reception Outpost. Explain your purpose upon drop off and allow them to refund you properly.

We are first time Cabin guests. We are using our golf cart every day, for various things. We take it to the bus or boat to get to the parks, and also drive it around to visit the other sites (decorated for Halloween right now). I personally prefer this to using the internal busses, but I understand others like the bus service and of course the carts are pricey.

And if you want to go offsite for the rental, you can get them much cheaper.

Going offsite is not really ideal if you only want a day or two, but if you want a longer time it does become considerably more beneficial.

We have an 7 day rental offsite. It's $245. From Disney it would be about $439.88

Thanks for the info. This will be our first camping trip to Fort Wilderness. I see you are a veteran Fort Wilderness camper. Would you mind sending me a PM with the offsite rental information? Happy camping!
