Golf Cart Question

Hey ya'll! Quick question on the golf carts. There are 6 people in our party me, DH, DS (15), DD (13), DS (9), and DS (7). We've never rented a cart before, what is the max capacity on seating? I think that we would all fit on the cart, but are there any regulations as to how many people can ride?

Its supposed to be 4 people, I have seen more than that but I am not sure how heavily Disney would frown on 6. Personally I think its too tight, we often have 5 people in our group but they dont like being smashed in the cart so we sometimes make 2 trips.

When we were there in July, there were families that had larger golf charts with 3 seats. There's probably a name for those. I wonder if they rented them from off WDW sources. May be worth a try.

We almost always have more than the 4 in our group. We do what we call the disney shuttle and take one load and come back and get the rest. It works just fine.

We were there in Sept. and used 1 golf cart for the 6 of us plus our stroller! It was 2 average size adults, a tall 11 year old, an average size 9 year old, a 7 year old that is the size of a 9 year old and a 2 year old. We were not squished. I saw people with 5 adults (they looked squished, but your not riding for an hour). I refused to pay $800 for 2 golf carts, $400 for the week was bad enough. I would not stay there without a golf cart, however!

we just started planning a trip to the Fort in 09, can you rent the golf carts for less than a week? do they have a daily rental? Also how far in advance do you, or can you, reserve them.
We are really looking forward to camping here! When we started camping years ago, we always said we wanted to camp at the Fort.

You can rent them by the day $50
You need to reserve one in advance I dont know how far but it is over 100 days.

We were fine with 6(plus an 8 month old) in a cart...wasnt comfy, and we only piled on to go to the bus stops, but it got us where we needed to go. We didnt do any joy-riding with more than four though because it was just a tad too much. YMMV

We have a golf cart at home too and can fit 5. My DH and I in front and the 3 kids in back. It is getting more crowded back there as the kids are growing but hopefully they can still squeeze in there for a couple more years.

I think they will reserve them a year in advance?

It will be crowded but you can make it work, too much $$$$ to rent two.
