We just bought a used golf cart for our upcoming December trip. DH and DS have 10 months to make it pretty. It will fit in the 8 foot bed of the F-250 and the question is what is the safest way to load it into the truck ??? What type of ramps should we use ??? Should the tailgate be removed before loading ???

That would be a good question for MrsGus, she is the resident expert on private golf carts at FW. :teeth:

Sorry I could not get back to you yesterday about this big D, but I was too busy in the MK with a certain person who likes me best, making the most of our last day there till June  . Anyway, we did put ours in the back of our 8 ft bed with the travel trailer, but Skeeter did it with borrowed ramps. I will ask him what kind they were when he gets home. I know there were 2 individual ramps. My parents have a smaller truck and load theirs on the back of the truck with the single ramp that folds. I don't suggest trying that one, as my parents have had to "make it stronger", as my mom says. Last year, backing out of the truck, the ramp fell golf cart, mom and all. She did not get hurt, but now secures the ramp to the truck before loading/unloading.

All I hear is BLAH BLAH BLAH :rotfl:

In the interest of hijacking another thread.... she didnt take the bait :rotfl:

I have to keep my mind off the weather here and on FW :cold:

oh yea, I'll hijack the thread! :teeth: I have no shame! I keep forgetting to ask about the ramps, but that just goes with old age. If it wasn't bad enough to celebrate my birthday yesterday, I am celebrating my now 11 yo dd birthday today. Just got back from Verison, buying her the cell phone "she so needs during the summer in Disney" So, Big D, you know what that means? SHE IS IN WITH MS. SUNDEE ALSO!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: I know, all you hear is blah blah blah!

By the way, do you have your dates set for spring break? Ours is from April 8 to 15. I don't think we will be going south for spring break. We are waiting for the blue prints to be approved and the breaking ground for our addition so I want to concentrate on paying off our summer stay.

I think Northern has them in their catalog, aluminum and the brackets for making your own out of 2x10 or 2x12. I would try there first.

MrsGus, we are going March 25th through April 2nd, kind of a short trip but we gotta sneak it in while we can. Tell your buddy I said Howdy.

Scott
