I will be getting a golf cart when I stay at the cabins in early Dec. 2008. I seem to recall that you can park golf carts on the lake side of the trading post by the boat dock. Is that still true? Plus, they have electric plugs close to the driveways at the cabins for recharging, right? Lastly, I will always have space on my cart for another person or two. Are there any hitchhiking rules I should follow? Would you think it was creepy  for a woman on a golf cart to ask your party if they wanted a ride to their loop?

We've shuttled tired and weary looking strangers to their cabin or campsite before. These were usually nights when we were cruising around just looping anyway. I think it is a VERY nice and selfless thing to do!

They still have the outlets by the marina and settlement parking areas. Our site didn't have an extra plug on the post like we noticed on other sites...but we did run an extension cord from our motorhome to it to keep it plugged in at night.

We take our golf cart to other campgrounds from time to time. In the past I have offered rides to people that seem to need it. A little girl that fell down and scraped her knee (her mom was very grateful I brought her back to her site) and an older couple that got caught in the rain. I enjoy helping other people out when I can.

If I am on my way up to the camp store and see my neighbors outside, I will ask them if they need anything while I am there. Over Labor Day here in Mi. we ended up taking turns bringing back ice and firewood.

Campers are among the nicest people I've ever met :goodvibes

One time my mom and I were on our way to the marina and there was about 7 people cammed on a golf cart and the 2 mothers could not squeeze on so they were walking behind so we gave them a ride. I don't think it's creepy at all!

I've often given park-worn, tired out people a ride in my golf cart. Especially those who are walking from Meadow Trading Post back to the cabins or the 2000 loop. A lot of people don't realize just how long a hike it is to those areas.

First time visitors to the Fort also get turned around on directions - especially in the dark. I've had people come up to me and ask where the XXXX loop is, and they were heading in the wrong direction. I just tell them to jump on for a "front door delivery"!!

I've never been creeped-out by anyone I've given a ride to (although they might have been creeped-out by someone offering them a ride) - I've just been profusely thanked! (It makes me feel good, too!) :thumbsup2
