Golf cart or car?

We always bring the GC. If we're going to be there very long, we rent a car for a day or so to go off site for groceries, medicines, etc. Enterprise and Alamo will pick you up at your campsite. By the way Alamo, National, and Enterprise are under the same company and use the same car lot pools. Enterprise is usually cheaper.

We always rent a cart from Kenny at Tee Time rentals. He is a fantastic guy and has fantastic rates to match!

From the first time we rented a golf cart, we were hooked. Now we wouldn't go without one- it's half the fun!

i agree the golf cart is half the fun

It depends if you are going to spend the majority of your time at the parks or if you plan on spending a fair amount of down time at the fort. The cart comes in very handy for traveling within FW, or just for exploring other loops. With the exception of the Magic Kingdom, you can get to and back from the parks much more quickly by driving your own car. Using Disney Transportation involves 2 buses with a transfer or 1 bus and a transfer to a boat. You can drive to the MK in about the same amount of time but you will have to transfer to a boat or the monorail at the MK parking lot. The FW boat ride (to the MK) is very scenic and relaxing and should be considered a not miss.

On our last trip to the fort (Dec. 2010) we towed the golf cart and rented a car from Enterprise for under $150.00 for 8 days. It was much cheaper than renting a golf cart that we absolutely must have when we stay at the fort. We also drive to all the parks except MK in the mornings, make several trips to Camping World, and a couple of trips to the grocery store. We also take breaks during the day. Enterprise is located at the Royal Plaza by Downtown Disney and they pick you up and later drop you off whenever you return the car. People were super nice and helpful. Good luck and have fun.

Thanks much for the great info. One more question though. With the cart, while in the park, is there anywhere I can't go? I mean, can i travel from park to park in the cart?

The golf cart is strictly for use within Ft Wilderness. And there are some no cart zones there also.
