How much do the golf cart rentals cost? Can you rent by the day or length of your stay?

They are approximately $50 per day with taxes. You can rent them by the day or for your entire stay. You need a reservation and can make one up to a year in advance by calling the bike barn directly. (The number is in the FAQ sticky at the top of this page).

there is a small break for weekly rentals.

Keep in mind that the golf cart day runs from 1:00 pm (pick up time) to 11:00 am (the drop off time), the next day.

You can pick up anytime between 1:00 pm and 6:00 pm (they close at 6:00 pm), but it has to be dropped off by 11:00 am on the return date.

It would be so nice if they would do a discount or a package for longer stays. I budgeted in money for golf cart rental, but after reading another thread I'm kind of liking going to Walmart and buying cheap bikes for everyone and then donating them or passing them off to other campers better. It'll be half the cost for 3 people for 7 days.

Before you "pass on" your bikes...make sure the people you pass them onto promise to do the same when they are done with them.....the more families that get use out of them, the better. I LOVE this idea and just think of the surprise and good cheer you'll bring to some happy family...a magic moment that YOU are completely in charge of!!!!!! :)

We are taking bikes too, our stay is too long and we can't afford the golf cart :(

If you not going to keep the bikes, go to goodwill, we got 3 bikes there, all in great condition. One was $7.00 and the other 2 $15.00 dolars each. One had a flat tire ($5.00 repair) the other 2 were just fine, DH took the chain and soaked in oil and that was it.

"passing on bikes" is an awesome idea. i hate to suggest spending more money but.... if you get some kind of bag for the bikes and tell the next people to write their name, dates they used them and where they are from on a sheet of paper to put into the bag....;)

just a thought..

If you've never had a golf cart at FW, you might want to get one for just one day. It is a lot of fun to ride around the campground, and as much as I love having my bike at FW, it just isn't the same experience as having a golf cart!

I love that idea...like geocaching, but with bikes! :thumbsup2

I bet that log would be a really interesting read...

...hmmm, bike caching?

better yet, buy a golf cart and pass it along to another camper when you leave. Be sure to let me know when you are going and I will be glad to take it off your hands:rotfl2:

In 2001 we rented golf carts from an off site source. They brought the cart and delivered it to us at FW. The cost was approx. $100 cheaper for a week than it was to rent one from FW.
I don't remember the website but you shouldn't have trouble finding it. The only drawback is that Disney may have banned renting from off site sources since we were there last.

Apparently Disney has "discouraged" this, but there are still companies who can do it. I got a quote recently from who is highly recommended by other camping forum members. His price for my 10 day stay was about $25 less than Disney's price, when factoring in the $50 delivery charge.

I'm the one who started the bike discussion - I can't justify the cart charges for the minimum time we would use it. I plan to request a loop near one of the bus stops. We only plan to take the ferry to MK and the rest of the time we're going to drive to the parks.

I'm crossing my fingers that the purple bus route is good enough.
